Be glad to see ya again!

The Midwest Overlanders also use this as a day to get newer off roaders familiar with the hobby. With that, there will be a lot of stock or near stock vehicles. They don't get too out of control. Then there's a few regular TW'ers from up north that get pretty adventurous. You'll get a good day of whatever type of off roading you like.

There's a group moving in on Friday night. We'll be headed up on Saturday morning. Some will camp Saturday night. Some will depart for home on Saturday afternoon. Wheeling on Sunday, or head on home Sunday morning. Badlands has a camp ground. It's big enough that individual groups can have some degree of separation if desired.

we'll give it until a few days before hand to settle where to meet. Depends on who all is going and where they come from. Probably faster for you all to just stay on I 64 until you get to/across the bridge. Most likely I'll go to I 65 and then north. Plenty good spots to join up once we're on the Indiana side.

    Almost all interstate getting there.

this. bottle jacks are arguably just as dangerous as high-lifts. they have a small base (dangerous, just like a high lift), and have a TINY point of contact (dangerous!!)
cantilever? better than a 4x4 though... either way you better be on a flat surface

here's what everyone should take away from the hi-lift discussion:

DO NOT EVER get under a vehicle that is only supported by a jack. jacks fail. even good jacks.
get some 6 or 12 ton jack stands with some plywood or weld yourself a steel base to keep them from sinking while off road, put the truck on flat ground, THEN crawl under it (3 tons won't reach the frame if you're wondering)

even when using a 2 post lift, get the vehicle to the height you want and bring it down to the next set of locks. let it rest on those. that way if the hydraulics fail, the vehicle doesn't budge

Once you get clear of Indy, gas stations are few and far between. Once we get to Attica, there's a station just past the entrance to Badlands. I'll be topping off there. It's just about 2 minutes drive from the front gate.

Because you live 127 miles outside of Bumfuk Egypt. NOTHING is close. Best I can do is 2+ hours and most are more like 4 or 5. Buy a couple thousand acres and open an off road park We'll come see you.

I know where there's more land at a slightly lower cost not too far southwest of Louisville. Save us a lot of road miles. Years ago, we got a group of 40 together and bought what is now "Saddleback East", a motorcycle club grounds where we raced dirt bikes. It's directly next door to Dirty Turtle off road park. We all pitched in $150 a year for 15 years, then used profits from events to make up the difference. Paid it off in 12 years. "Charter members" could sell their share at any time so long as buyer was approved by 2/3rds of existing members.

I'd probably rally up with you and whoever else in Cincy if I go. Want to lift ASAP!
Correct. I remember driving to Indy for work all too well. There are few gas stations past Indy headed north or west.
That's just odd that you know this...I'm literally about 127 miles from Lex.
