No longer blowing cold air at the moment, stopped some time last night I guess, woke up to 78°. Now 96° inside the house.
Blower fan won't auto shutoff, blows cold, then once the air kicks off, blows heat out. Only thing that shuts off the fan after it ramps down is the breaker for the entire unit. Found the coil sitting in its pan, full of water and had overflowed at some point. Condenser wouldn't kick on like it should, fixed that. Old wiring, easy fix.

So, what would cause the fan to not shut off?

What can I do, without spending money if possible, to get cold air again?

Currently waiting it out with windows open and fans blowing for outside temp to drop, turn it all back on, and hope it's cool air.

Ours did this in our other house last summer. Our emergency heat was running because an electrical component shit the bed. Its designed so that when the grid comes on the fan runs, since the grid is stuck on the fan stays on. It took a $20 part to fix it but our electric bill that month was $600... Sorry for not having the correct terminology and such.

I couldn't figure it out so I actually had a HVAC company check it out and make the repair. They killed the power to it until they replaced it. Id start there. Not a HVAC guy, just giving you a possibility and something to look into.

Got a window unit from a coworker. Temporary.

I highly doubt my cousin will fix the unit. Buying another unit on payday.

    No truck parts this pay...
