Hi all. New to the forum. I live in Lexington and waiting to get a call to pickup my new 2016 TRD off road from Gambrel's Toyota in Corbin. My second Tacoma. Bought a 1996 1st Gen right after they were introduced. I put about 196k on it before they bought it back because of frame rust. That was 4 years ago and I've been through 8 vehicles since. Time to go back to a TACO. Seems like great information on this forum. Look forward to reading and sharing our experiences.

Thanks! When I was plate bumper shopping (dreaming) I was torn between CBI and Pelfreybilt. Ended up deciding to go with a hybrid tube/plate, then decided to buy a tubing bender and fab a plate winch mount and weld up a tube bumper and front and rear wheel arches. Thankfully I won the Demello/Baja promotion and save a lot of time and $$$. Still wasn't sold on the Demello going by a few google image searches but damn. I love it! It has exceeded expectation in every way so far, and aesthetically it's much more pleasing in person than google had promised. Now I need to go beat on it and see what she's made of lol.
Edit: Demello was by far the best looking (IMHO) in the three hoop. Not sure why exactly but it is the most pissed off looking. Which I lIke lol.

    Cabin fever is setting in.

It's kinda difficult to see but (basket on roof) I've had this basket for a while now with this in mind. I'm not sure if I like it or how I would even attach it. Some Yakima rails may be in my future.

    Thoughts?

I do a little hobby welding and fabrication work, one of the things I wished Tacomas had is the post pockets little most domestic Pickups have. It would help in building all kinds of bed mounted accessories and I have seen some interesting light bars/bed rails with headache and light bar mounts. Because this is my fourth tacoma I am taking it slow on what I really want on this truck. Your truck is very similar to the first tacoma I had and my favorite truck to date.

The 1st gens are just so utilitarian. I'm ready to retire mine to weekend duty only though. The maintenance required for a 13 year old daily driver is beginning to annoy me really.

Monticello area here. Actually, about 20 miles south of Monticello, right on the little South Fork River, on about 8 acres of land.
As I tell people I'm so far out in the woods we have to pipe in sunshine and fresh air!

Howdy! I'm just north of ya, in Mt Washington. Normally I'm all over this thread. Been in and out of the hospital the past couple weeks and just now catching up.

We were in Bardstown this morning. Started out as a quick run to the grocery store....ended up a tour of Bullitt and Nelson counties....

As soon as I'm back on my feet, I have to help a neighbor work on his garage door. He got a roof rack for his Jeep Cherokee. He installed it at his brothers house, came home about half lit on Christmas Eve, hit the garage door opener, and gassed it in.....without realizing the rack was about 4" too tall to make it in the door. He won't let me take pictures! ;)

Bought a Smittybilt X2o 10,000# with synthetic rope and wireless remote. Itching to install it, hanging drywall this weekend though.

I'm still trying to decide just how much of an honor it is to be the smartest one on our road. The bar isn't very high.......

What's really funny is, the closest this Cherokee will ever come to off roading is when he pulls on his gravel driveway.....and it has more damage than my truck!

That's a good thing! (The winch) Now I can see just how good of a winch those are. I started getting the first of my hospital bills yesterday. My high end Warn just got scaled back a bit....May have to wait a while. Our bonus checks will be out soon. I'm still getting new shocks/coils/leafs, but that may be it until the doctor gets his new Range Rover paid off.....

Looks like a good start! The company I work for makes some different product out of this style mesh. Been thinking about bending up some 3/4 rigid conduit and using some mesh as the deck in a new roof rack. Seen pics of others work and looks fairly nice. Have a welder if you need, just have to have a nice day to work outside as I have no garage.
