    Google "KAT" Kentucky Adventure Trail.

Also. "Black Mountain off. Road Park. harlan county camp ground" if you like BIG parks.

    KAT is an epic trip.

Thanks for the info, I've heard of the KAT run but isnt it like 5-6 days? Is the southern section of the trail for 2-3 any fun?

I've been on bits and pieces. Not an expert. It ain't easy. Helpful if you know what you're doing. Do a 2 day section and judge how good....then come back later and do the whole thing. Use this time as a scouting trip.

Possible trail ride @ Interlake SRA in Indiana on Saturday, September 2nd (Labor Day weekend) If I can gather a group of 4 or more, will be leaving Louisville area around 8AM Saturday morning. Interlake is about 90 minutes west of Louisville, along I 64, before you get to Evansville.

A couple friends with Jeep XJ's are going. I may go just to watch them. (Both off road idiots/no experience/junk vehicles) Should be interesting to watch. I'd prefer to have 2 or 3 Tacoma's along for the ride. I have to work Friday/Sunday/Monday of Labor Day weekend. So no camping for us....

When I was still sliding around on dirt bikes, "Interlake" was the site of the Black Coal National Enduro. It was one of my favorites UNLESS it was rainy. That place gets as greasy and slick as any place I've ever been in my life. Then there's the black coal dust residue "ponds". They turn into black "flats", but can get pretty swampy. The 2 clowns in the XJ's are going no matter what. I'm almost OK with rain just to watch them get stuck over and over. Both have winches. Neither of which work at last check. (Horrible Freight "Badlands" winches) I have a feeling I'll spend an inordinate amount of time dragging them out of shit they should have stayed out of.

I looked at 5 different weather models for the weekend. All call for 2" (+ or -) rain in Evansville area for Friday and Saturday.

    Bummer.
