Powder is powder. But not sure why I'd need chromemoly for my bed cage. #notaracetruck #overlander

Chromemoly is significantly stronger than what your garden variety fabricator is going to use for their customers products

It's also significantly harder to get the further you get from California ( no idea why,but it is also the metalergy of choice for racetrucks lol)

Heat treat increases strength and diminishes issues with metal impurities

And proper powdercoat def determines the lifespan of it.

But I get you not wanting to pay 1500$ unless you were gonna racetruck
And that's why it was built
    It's to house my shocks
And the biggest design requirement for me was its serviceability

4 bolts and a impact and you can have it in and out pretty quick

I would use it as a spare carrier, jack/shovel/axe mount, and/or light attachment. Not gonna grind and cut and weld on that. Also won't be running a suspension setup like what you have for reasons

I'm sure its very nice and I always get a welding boner when I see some beautiful Tig welding. Unfortunately around here there isn't much of a market for prerunner equipment. Just not really anywhere to utilize it like there is out west. I am surprised it's not more common with the SXS guys and their crazy cages they build. It's insane how much money some of the guys I work with sink into their RZRs. Most of them spent more on their stock RZR than I did my Tacoma and THEN they sink another $8-$10k in them for new suspension, cages, sliders, audio ECT ECT. But daily a '03 Silverado... :boink:

Just looked for the number for you and it appears it has changed names or owners and is not Kentucky driveline anymore. Its Power Train Companies now. It's on Nandino. If for whatever reason they can't take care of you then you can hit up Republic Diesel but it might be a shot in the dark with them.

We discussed this a while back
There are actually some good prerunner style driving options short drives away
    Like silver Lake Michigan

But what's funny is everyone thinks about how capable a jeep is offroad when upgraded and how awesome their Tacoma is when they put bilstiens on it and as true as all that is
The ones who really shine all around no matter the terrain are prerunner/ "racetrucks" because of the articulation their suspension setups allow.

Now mine you I am not a shining example of that description but I mostly just blame that on turd gen hahaha

FYI there are several of the slightly stronger 8.75" rear ends for sale (~$2k) within a few hours drive, most of the ones for sale have the locker too I think. I'm not sure what size tires you have on your rig, but the 4.88 full nitro gear set is $1300... of course this would probably take 20 hours to get it all done with another set of hands to help.

Cheaper and less cool than those other options tho lol

I was confused about which rear end was shitty the other day, I'm sorry those rear ends ever existed :/
