2k+1300+new SUA pads+new bump pads+ someone to weld it.
At that point I'm as much into it as I would be for a new set up from camburg or Currie

It's absolutely a good idea if I wasn't already so modified but since I'm at that point it will cost a good chunk no matter if I go to another factory part or I go big boy parts

But at least big boy parts are gonna hold up better and I can eliminate wheel spacers

The easiest way to explain everything is I had planned on going to a big boy set up this year in the summer. And I just needed to bide my time til then (save money and whatnot)
But this set up going out just put me in a position of not being able to get things done without wasting money or taking a huge loss haha.
There is a motor swap planned for the truck in the near future and it will require a big boy set up to handle the power so putting factory back under the truck would cost me 4-5k and still need to be replaced with the big boy set up nearly right after

1.Order of operation for me currently is
Find a transport option to get the truck to a good fabricator (Texas or Cali)

2.Line up a buyer for all the parts coming off the truck
    -leaf springs
    -2.5x16 bypass shocks
    -bedcage

3.Buy/order the new parts with money made from old parts sale

    4. Have the new set up built/installed

    5. Come home haha

If I could afford the Kings, I would. Really.

Make a listing on here. Let potential buyers know your plan right here that I'm quoting. Might get more bites knowing that you will head west and possibly ease shipping costs if needed.
Like said before, the market for prerunner parts is very niche here in our immediate area. I think you'll have better luck west of the big crick! :)

There are a few REALLY GOOD fab shops on the east coast. They just don't feature desert truck builds so much.

And metallurgy is practiced here too.

The thought process I have is-
Do you want the guy who builds rock crawlers to try and build a prerunner?
Or do you take it to the people who build prerunner AND fix them when they break and know what won't work for that style.

I just see it as a dude who builds rock crawlers is gonna build quality but he will do it based on his experience
And what works on a rock crawler may not work on a race truck (the deisel brothers learned that real quick last year)

My question is, why Prerunner on the East Coast where you have no where to pre run? :burnrubber:

So...How's the over-all success/fail rate on the West Coast fab shop's work and/or selection of parts?

None of what was made or installed on the truck by the west coast guys has failed

    Toyota manufacturing failed
You can't blame that on who built the bed cage.
And the SUA set up is from total chaos and is being ran by plenty of people on the east coast
@Coot83 is running almost the exact same set up to the T and his truck is just fine

Silver lakes Michigan, Florida, South and North Carolina

PreRunner trucks are designed around more articulation on the suspension while also allowing you to move quickly.
Rock crawling ain't for me so I built the truck around how I like to drive it.

Big knobby tires and only being able to reach 80 on the hwy seems dumb too me just for rock crawling.

But I can build a truck that gets equal or greater suspension articulation and do the same stuff a rock crawler can do and still go fast.

It's actually why trophy trucks and ultra 4 trucks are nearly identical

but those states, or the closest dune, is a haul to even get to those. Don't get me wrong, I, like most of us here, would probably give our left nut for a bad trophy truck. However, dealing with shipping, building, etc. I probably wont try to build one as long as I live in KY. Now if I had my own garage, machinery, etc. to do all of it myself then maybe so. Just seems like more trouble then what you'd get out of it is all I'm saying. However I still think your truck looks bad to the bone

If your rear didn't blow up, I wouldn't have stopped pushing you to test your truck with us on the trails.

    Well
    Funny enough
If I had a welder and a shop with a pipe bender and such
My fab dude said he would come here and do everything I needed done
And he would just drive his truck/all his tools, and the materials/parts needed
So it wouldn't be such a huge issue if I had somewhere to do all this haha
(There is more to it than having a welder and pipe bender and space but I'm sure you follow)

I do still love your truck even though it looks like fat catfish laying on the bottom of a river (all 3rds look this way to me) :notsure:

Well this is what irritates me the most.

That truck has had issues with the rear since I got it
And Toyota was aware of it and the case was there well before any mods
And on the drive home from all the Cali mods it started getting loud and I knew it was headed to its grave.
I literally just needed it to survive til July >.>

I even told Toyota when I dropped it off
Just get it good enough to drive around town (cause by July I had a towing set up arranged)

Then why did you put on all those mods and take the risk of being told 'no' when potential recalls or warranty service became reality?

I knew I was going to void warranties. I was close to the end of the factory warranty when I got it @ 24.5k miles and I wasn't buying an ext one. Paid more for nothing when I had my Mazda3, lucky I got the rest back when I traded it back to the selling dealer because they went upside down and fucked a lot of people with ext warranties through them early last year.

If my rear blows, I'll find a way to get gears no matter what. If my motor or trans go to shit, there should be little, if any, flak from a dealer because I haven't touched those in any fashion. When I need a new clutch, I'll stalk Gid's thread and ask him more questions than he wants, but I'll change it out right in my driveway. Or Everett's yard ;)

Not trying to be a complete dick, or sound like one. Tone of voice doesn't translate into text and I tend to ramble as well. Just saying I wouldn't do what you did to a fresh off the lot brand new vehicle that hadn't had its kinks worked out. But your truck is one bad mother and I'm going to ask if I can drive it once when it's worthy again, if you'd allow such things.
