    Wish they had seats for a 2011....My drivers seat is showing wear. I've given up on finding salvage truck. People expect prices for low mile complete undamaged truck.

    @beertimecontinuum or @Caboose117

    What's the word on rear axle?

    A guy who hangs around where I buy gas had the rear end fail on his 2017. It went to dealer in late September. He hasn't seen it since. 3rd gens were starting to grow on me. I'm over that.

    I'm trying to find the price for an OEM axel and haven't had luck so far.

    Beer has offered to come over any time this week to mess with it I just have a few other things on my plate. So it's a lesson in patience for me for sure.

    The thread talking about all the many ways this rear end will fail is quite long so it's no telling how long your friend will be without his truck
    I'd suggest to him to contact a lawyer now if he has that option available to him

    He's trying to get Toyota to buy it back.

    Dealer tells him axle is backordered.

    I would imagine most of the production is going to new builds....I doubt manufacturing capacity exceeds demand of new production by much, if at all.

    Not sending it out west just yet?

    Theres still a few of the TRD offroad rear ends around, I did all the research the other day though... I'd have to go check that post.

    I'd be down to have an axle swap party whenever I get back from Japan.

    Had both....previous 3 Tacoma's were sticks. Both my Jeeps were sticks. My Bronco was auto. My Tundra was auto like current Tacoma. There's a good reason why most rock bouncers are auto's. So long as you have adequate tranny cooling, modern auto's are a tough act to beat.

    And I can't stand the smell of burnt clutch.
