Bet you won't be able to go some of the places where that little sucker will go. It's comparable to early model Jeeps. Not meant to compete with mid sized pickups. Probably a few thou less expensive too. Also designed for an international market...Not for running up and down interstates. I'd take one in a heartbeat.

    I don't want a mini-Heep, nor a life-size Heep. I like my fat 4 banger

Thats fine. But realize there are things a jeep will do that a Tacoma struggles with (and vice versa) I've had both...Several of both. Neither one has a lock on off roading.

No. If I wanted a 4wheeler to off road, I'd still have my Mazda3 and a wheeler.
    That's all :)

Those things are kinda cool, but look like a Jeep. So might as well buy a Jeep, right? Or, just buy a UTV.
I'm sure some poor suck out there will bite and buy the mini-Heep anyway.

If I was in the market, it would be a '60's/early '70's (pre AMC) Jeep. Mahindra targets the "farmette"/horse farm crowd. I'm fairly certain that's where most of their Jeep knock off SxS's will end up.

The Jeeps from the era I mentioned still had Borg Warner 4-speeds, Dana axles front and rear, and frames that were worthy of a tri-axle dump truck. AMC made em throw aways. They never quite rebounded....

They have an interesting past. These are being made (at the moment) in Michigan with US and Indian parts. They say that a "road worthy" kit will be sold for them so you can drive them on road but honestly the thoughts of driving around in a tin can with no airbags or design features to save me and my family in an accident doesn't thrill me. The days of having some semblance of faith in other drivers is gone. The road is full of idiots not paying one ounce or attention.
