Agreed completely. I see what happens to the health of my friends that are trying to work 70 hrs a week on salary and their lack of life and I think more and more american management practices are messed up.

I've had my eye on a PERFECT shop for about a year. 2 lifts, a frame rack and paint booth (ex body shop) 9 bays. 2 big enough for RVs and trucks. Plenty of power, exhaust fans (for welding) a good size office (retail space?) And fenced parking for 20+ vehicles.

Across the street from a liquor store....

    3 blocks from home.

I own enough rental property to leverage financing for a fab shop/repair/retail 4wd business.

Just waffling on the nerve part.

Business is there in this area. (2 Local car lots refer to this counties fascination with 4wds in their TV commercials....)

If I was 10 years younger....

TW. Keep an eye out in the buy sell trade forums locally or craigslist. They'll be your best bet. Seems like you can't go a month before somebody swaps some tires. Happy Hunting.

Toyota rear diff is by far the simplest one of any you'll ever find to work on. Did my own re-gear. 90% of the work is pulling/re-installing unit. Front diff is sort of the same story...Just more complicated to remove/re-install diff. I've done hundreds of ring and pinions. Used to do 'em for buddies that were into drag racing. I'm up to doing ring/pinion installs, just NOT the part where I'm under the truck. Mine has over 40K miles since re-gear and no complications. They are intimidating, but not nearly so complicated as they might seem.

Yeah, Matt pointed me towards ECGS and buying a completed unit I think.

I looked at that route. Wasn't willing to spend that much. I did mine, parts included, under $800 front and rear. (Motive Gear r&p)

I'm just glad the state/county clerk thinks it's worth less than it is! Less taxes that way.

Amen to that. On a related note about taxes. Talking to my neighbor yesterday he mentioned that his property value/tax rate has went up almost 50k in 4 years while mine has only went up 10k in that same span. We have the exact same floorplan but I have a larger lot. How the hell does that make sense?

Anyone going or been to the unlimited off-road expo in Louisville? Thinking about going next weekend if it’s worth it

Maybe. But my 2nd gear is 2nd gear. Your 2nd gear can be 1st and 2nd, a gear change mid-climb over an obstacle can be the difference in making it or wheel spin.

I definitely need a new clutch, just not sure how deep in my pocket I wanna get for that. Need to figure out if the clutch is same across 4 banger and v6, most places show only v6 parts when looking for a clutch kit.
