    Years ago, we used to get weekend clearance to wheel on the tank trails. It was massive mudhole after massive mudhole. I've been to a couple cemeteries that were close to paved roads. One that was near Camp Carlson.

    Been doing a lot of research on some trails at the Gorge, looks like they're are tons of trails from easy to as hard as you'd like.
    Can't seem to for sure trail head anywhere but nothing that a little roaming around couldn't find. If anyone has ever been there and would like to give their .02, any info would be great.
    Days will be Saturday June 11th or Saturday June 18th.

    Both of those dates should work for me. I prefer the 18th though.

    My life just went into a holding pattern. Had an MRI Monday morning. Radiologist just called and said the urologist will call me before the end of the day, but meantime, they've referred me to another doctor.....an oncologist. I see him Friday morning @ 8:45.

    Just posted this in another thread;

    Thanks guys. Your support means more than you know. I talked with my doctor yesterday after I got home. He called to explain a few things so I would not have to wait until Friday to know what all is going on. The MRI detected a 6cm growth in my right kidney, a 3cm growth on the liver, and a "spot" on my pancreas. He went on to tell me the usual course of action will be chemo, radiation, and surgery, ranging from removing the larger growth on the kidney, to possibly removing that kidney. The lingering infection is a result of the kidney. They will evaluate and see just how much damage is done to that kidney before suggesting the next action. There will also be further testing to see if cancer is in my bloodstream, or has travelled to any other parts of the body.

    Talk about timing....I'm going to the funeral home this evening to pay my respects to an old friend who just died of pancreatic cancer.

    Hard NOT to be scared at a time like this....

    Just got back from the doctor's office. Like I said earlier, I'm a big believer in positive thoughts and good karma.

    YOU GUYS DID IT!!!!!!!!!
    The doctor had what amounted to the best news I've heard in ages. The growth on the kidney is exophytic. Meaning, it's on the outside, rather than IN the kidney. It can be removed without taking the kidney. They will take a small "divot" below the cyst, cutting some healthy tissue to make certain all the malignant growth is removed. It can be done via robotic surgery. This means 3 small (less than 1") incisions. Hospital stay of 24 to 48 hours. Able to return to work in 3 to 5 days, with a 10lb lifting restriction for 3 weeks. They will biopsy the spots on the liver and pancreas as a precautionary measure, but further examination by the radiologist indicate it is NOT cancerous. Once ALL the kidney surgery is over and done, I will get a full body CT scan and PT scan to make certain there is no other cancer throughout the rest of my body. If THAt comes back clear, CLEAN BILL OF HEALTH, probably by mid to late June!

    This ain't over 'til it's over, but the light at the end of the tunnel isn't a burglars torch as it once appeared to be. Looks like this may have the best possible conclusion!

    @Bluegrass Taco That's great news.

    Rush looks pretty sweet on YouTube. Pretty good drive for me though.

    OK....Starting to plan a Saturday trip sometime in June. If all goes well with my medical issues, I'm good to go around middle of June, and want to celebrate! A friend is just about finished with his Jeep XJ build. He bought it totaled, spent most of the winter rebuilding, and is down to installing front lift and tires/wheels. He's on a VERY limited budget (disabled) and wants to stay close to home. We'll break it in some weekend @ Dirty Turtle ORP for a quick and easy trip, but shortly after that, either Interlake of Badlands in Indiana. I'm leaning towards Badlands. My friend is thinking more like Interlake, but is flexible. So.....As soon as I can, we'll nail down a couple possible dates and post back.

    Of course I was happy to get the good news, but even happier for my wife. She just lost a brother to cancer, has a close friend in the final stages, and then we find out about mine....She was with me when the doctor gave us the news last Friday. We both made it out of his office, then broke down. It was a HUGE weight lifted off of us both. Then it was absolutely wonderful getting to share the good news with friends. Sometimes it's tough to see positives in a negative situation.....but you have to look. This time it wasn't so hard to see the bright side!
