Hmmm, this is very tempting with the weather this weekend and that I'm only about 40 minutes away from the Gorge. .

This may be just too simple to be the cause, but, gotta ask. When was the last time you greased the drive shaft? Had a vibration start all at once last summer. Mid bearing was dry. Greased that bad boy and vibration went away as quick as it appeared. Hasn't returned in 20k + miles, so I'm calling it good.

    Yesterday :(

    before that... maybe August-ish

That was my first thought too.

but with 215k on the truck. and about 75k of that being put on by yours truly, some stuff is definitely starting to wear out I think...

Hiking out Auxier Ridge for sunrise if you're still game. It'll be a day trip... I never got around to packing any of my camping gear.

....assuming I wake up on time.

Would you guys be disappointed if I decided on short course 4 link instead of traditional 4 link with roll cage.

    Front will be pulling 19”
    Rear would pull 20-24

Beautiful morning in The Gorge. Was just a touch too late for sunrise though. Only expected to hike ~1mi to where I wanted to be but it ended up being 1.7mi.

I'll only be disappointed if I don't see the rig sometime in 2019.

Traditional 4 link requires a cab cage tied into the frame and into the rear shock towers as well because the force created by the suspension in the rear is so strong you need the cab cage if you don’t want to literally fold your frame in half while off-roading.

The short course setup just needs the bed cage and some frame plating underneath

    Traditional links pull between 26-32
    Short course pull 18-24
    both depending on the design

    Cost wise
Doing traditional will be more expensive by about 10-15k ontop of what short course 4 link would cost me

Short course with dual shock, frame plating and notching should be closer to 7-8ish

    Anyone else coming?

Tie rods may or may not happen. Waiting on the rods themselves now, Low Range being a bit slow to ship.
Front bumper light modification can be done solo and not too high on the list.
Welding is gonna happen for certain! I need to do more than bolt-on...
Front pads one day this week.
Driver hub assembly kinda pending what happens after the pads. If the sounds stop with them, I'll milk the bearing til a later date if I can.
Dakars and brake lines are the whole reasoning behind the "mod day". I'll touch them up with paint this week, as well as install the bushings in them.

Hit your bolts with some penetrating spray. May or may not be over for mod day. May or may not be taking a day trip to Vegas, cause flight benefits.

I'll cut em if I have to. The u bolts aren't that old from when I did the flip, so shouldn't be much issue. The other leaf bolts will certainly get PB!
I'd go to Vegas then lol!

I wouldn't mind poking in and saying hi. But this weekend doesn't look good for me. I might be heading to Bardstown to visit my grandmother. She's been at Flaget the last few days.
