Does anyone know of a local person doing OV tuning? It seems there are a bunch of folks doing it but I can’t seem to find any locally.

If you’re talking to me it’s great when you can get to them. There is a lot of coal mines that are inactive but under bond so they keep it locked down. But these are what I call mountain deer they feed on browse and not a whole lot of farmland like soybeans or corn. They tend to be leaner and honestly not as good to eat as compared to an Ohio deer.

Yeah there are some good ones here but they are hard to hunt. My brother took this bow kill last year. He said I need to step up my game this season. I think I will sneak into his stand…..

Yeah that’s the pretty much it. Honestly the public lands are over hunted and not regulated enough so you have people shooting anything that moves and the rifle season is wayyyyy to long. The entire season comes in about a month early.
Wow it sounds like I don’t like hunting KY. Lol

Up here, where I am, we've got a more hybrid whitetail. Not as big as Ohio's, but much more stout than SE KY or WV scrawny mountain deer.
As a hunter moving about 2 hours south to Prestonsburg/Paintsville very soon, I'll have my work cut out for me and I better quit smoking to hoof it up those damn mountains!

Well if you’re coming my way give me a shout sometime. Not that I have any places to hunt but just to say hey. And these hills are a beast I love my side by side.
