My boss is leaving town Friday. My #2 guy is taking chemo (for lung cancer) and might not be available to cover for me. If there's any ice/snow, I'm on call to run the salt spreader/snow plow @ work. No one wants decent weather more than I do.

Keeping fingers crossed at the moment......

I've already promised our 10-year old grand son, Mason, that he was goin' 4-wheelin', and he'll hold me to it. My boss will be in Boca Raton Florida by Saturday morning, so he won't be standing in my way. The weather guesser I listen to most of the time is saying temps in the upper 40's and rainy.

I started this thing and I intend on seeing it through.... It's just gonna be like everything else in life.....More complicated than it should be.....

That looks like big fun! When that snow hit Kentucky, the worst (or best, depending on your outlook) hit us here in Bullitt County. We had 19" on top of 9" from a prior snowfall with a layer of ice under that, along with winds gust's of 35mph. I had a 6' deep drift at the end of our driveway. Luckily, I had one of our tractors at the house. A 180hp, 22,000lb 4wd farm tractor will walk through a 6' drift like it isn't even there! That was also the day I met my current boss at work. The snow was an omen. There's been a dark cloud hanging over us every since he got here.

Yeah, I can picture the inside of my truck after a day of slopping around in the mud with a 10-year old climbing all over the seats.... :(

Soooo.... are we not going if it's too muddy? I share the sentiment about not wanting to muddy up my interior and what not. Don't want my 2yo to get muddy either. Just want to get together and do my part to grow the interest in the Central KY and Tri-State communities. Missed the last trip, probably won't get out again until the 4th Anual LBL trip.

My weather app says partly cloudy, high of 50° Wednesday through Sunday. Never know though.

My plan is to make a call on yes or no by tomorrow afternoon. Gonna wait and see just how much rain we get. Here at work, we have a National Weather Service hot line that's calling for 2-1/2"+ rain. Friday night/Saturday morning temps are supposed to reach down to upper 20's with a "wintery mix" of sleet and rain. I hate to drag this out, but it ain't looking good at this point. I'm more concerned about the drive too and from than I am about what we'll find when we get there.

I'm not as brave as I was when I was younger.....:(

Well that's sucks. Interested to see what you decide. Would rather not risk the freezing roads myself if not necessary. Plus i'm working Friday night and will be on no sleep come time to head home Saturday night. Maybe we'll have a mild weekend or two next month for a TW meet up. :fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed:

As bad as I want to do this, it's starting to sound like we might as well just pull the plug on it. Between the possible bad roads and having muddy kids climbing in and out of the trucks, this has all the makings of a fiasco!

No sleep kinda sux too. BTDT.

    So much for plans.

Oh well. wouldn't'a worked out well for me, weather issues or not. Found out where the back pain is coming from. It's front pain, left side pain, right side pain and pain in the butt pain now. My Urologist is gonna get to do some "rock crawlin'" in the next few hours. 2 Kindey stones that have'ta be broke up before they'll pass. Got an appointment in the AM to do the ultrasonic deal. Don't that sound like some fun. Got this slow sinking feeling my weekend is going to involve a screamin' like a little girl at some point. This gettin' old shit is fer-thu-burds.

8AM tomorrow morning. Ultrasonic rock crusher.....Then pump me full of fluids and then the REAL fun starts. If I hear my daughter or wife compare passing kidney stones to having a baby one more time, I'm gonna throw someone out a window.

All is well now, but probably a good thing I didn't try to go wheelin'. Wifey says I've been quite the grouch the last 24 hours. Kidney stones out. Pain still lingering. Last night wasn't exactly the best time I've ever experienced. Slept most of the day today.

That's Black Mountain! When we went there last month, we went in from the Evarts trail head. (South end of the park) Looks like Putney is where all the "amenities" are located. When they were showing the "Lower Rock Garden", you didn't see that there is a trail right along side of it where you can take a completely stock vehicle and watch the action. Most of the trails have several options to get around the REALLY tough stuff. Also, when we were there, it was bone dry dusty....(As I like to say, "Drier'n talcum powder on a saltine cracker") I've heard several folks say this is the best off roading east of the Mississippi River. All I can say about that is, there must be some AWESOME stuff west of the big muddy!

Anyone interested in making a run to Black Mountain in the next few weeks, let me know. I'd like to use my gate pass one more time this year. Hope is to go either 1st or 2nd Saturday in December. We took 3 essentially stock vehicles and spent the entire day with only a couple new "pinstripes".....No bent metal! Super fun place!
