    Yes.
    yes, that's a 500w HF Amplifier.

And it depends... I think ideally two batteries and an upgraded alternator, however two batteries would get you close.

    Some Math: :)

The V6 with Towing Package has a 135a alternator. 80a is enough to keep the truck running with all the factory accessories, so that gives you about 55a to play with.

Transmitting with the linear would dim the lights, as it would take ALL of the excess 55a, and still draw from the battery. However your duty cycle (amount of time transmitting vs receiving) is low enough the battery should get recharged pretty rapidly as well.

Two batteries gives you more "wiggle room" but an upgraded alternator (say 225a) would be better as the battery wouldn't have to float insufficient alternator current.

Clear as day or as mud?

Hey Y'all, what national parks are close to Moab besides Canyonlands, and Arches or is that it?
I'm going to participate in the National Parks on the Air event while I'm out there and activate both parks (one at a time obviously)

I was going to try to do the same at Four Corners on my way home, but that's not on the list of official sites, so...

The List of Parks to Activate.

Canyonland is actually 3 districts so lots to see and explore . I asked the needles district Rangers about activating and got permission but ended up back beside the beer at camp instead every day back in march

    Yes.
I've got the Icom IC-706MKIIg HF+6m, 2M, 70CM all mode in the truck. The Kenwood TM-D700a 2M, 70CM dual bander. A dedicated APRS transmitter, a CB, and three HTs with me. All the mobile antennas, and then also an Arrow hand held Satellite antenna, and a Buddipole Deluxe Long Edition.

I THINK I'm set for communications for this upcoming trip. (I leave sometime between 5am and 7am Central tomorrow.)

Not sure how I missed this. I arrive tomorrow/today (May 22) in the evening. I'll be here through Friday, when I think we (some smaller group of us) head to Montrose County, to leave in the rimrocker Saturday morning.

So, Dinner one of these nights? I think the Office is trying to do something Thursday evening, other than that I should be free every night.

I might not be able to connect with you while you're in Denver but will definitely connect with you in Moab. I'm actually leaving Thursday after work for Moab. I have a podiatry appt at 1300 so I'm gonna hopefully get a head start on traffic

    Yes.
I've arrived! And honestly I need help.
I can't explain how, or why, but I have two fully broken wheel studs on the front driver's side, and two more spin freely when turning the lug nuts.

IS there any chance someone in the littleton area has a pile of them (I have one with me actually) or would be willing to run past a parts store and help me out Monday or Tuesday night?

Looks like you found the Colorado BS section where many more will see this.

I think @3378jakesr5 has a socket that can fit the axel nut.

    Yes.
as long as we can get the wheel off, I'm confident we can fix everything else.
I'm concerned about the two free spinning wheel studs, those look like they're going to be a PITA :(

@thefatkid works at Grove... and @lotsoftoys works at Stevenson's West. I've not had Brian (thefatkid) work on my truck, but Jace (lotsoftoys) has. can't go wrong with either IMO... just hope they have availability.
