So I'm finally getting around to updating "The List"
I'm adding the RMRL repeaters (except for the digital one) and I was going to add the additional FRS frequencies, but it turns out that no frequencies were actually added. The GMRS frequencies already in the list have just been made available to FRS so GMRS1-8 just get renamed to GMRS 15-22.

I'm adding the RMRL repeaters in after the MOAB repeaters so slots 1-35 will remain the same in the list 36-42 will now be RMRL, and FRS slots will bump to 43 ->.

I'm pretty sure it's been mentioned before, but the recommended procedure using CHIRP is to download your radio's image file, import the .csv in to it and reupload it to your radio. The pdf is handy to print out and keep in your truck, and the excel and google sheet files are just for your use if you want to modify them or something.

Link to the list file HERE. If you use this latest file, you have information "Papa"

I'm leaning that way, it just seems large over there. I worried the additional weight might vibrate more with the base I built.

Anyone know where I can get the modular jacks for the 6 wire microphone? Is there anyone that is currently making a switch blank for a tacoma that accepts a modular RJ connector? The intent is to make an extension from the base unit to the dash so i can plug the mic directly into the dash.

Yes, bigger is better. When i had the 7" tablet, i would've swapped for a 10" for the extra screen. With phones i don't like them huge but for navigation it is nice having it larger.

    Ham folks...
Those with the UV-5R. if you are using it for an extended period of time, do you start getting shocked if you are transmitting and happen to touch the metal strap attachment point?

My old one that perished shocked me often, both of my new ones do as well. But it's only after they are on and used for a while that I'll end up getting tased.

You must HAM like an asshole. You should get at least 165hrs out of a UV-5R before getting shocked.

Never happened with any of mine :notsure:

    I think i got 16.5...

And they were on battery power, didn't have them on a 12v adapter.

I'd like to get a 50w mounted unit, didn't realize the beofeng ones are north of $300. That's cray cray for China junk.

Are they authentic Beofeng units or possibly an imposter? Could be some cheaper inners that are building up static and discharging on you.

Either that or its youe electric personality. :D

Yaseu makes great radios and they are not over $300. Zero complaints from my 7900R so far.
