Yeah, find out, that would be great. I'm realistically not looking to buy until at least next month. I'd feel more comfortable working on a 2 stroke, since that's more or less what I've had thus far (mostly old 2 stroke enduros and an RD350).
But from what I understand about KTM and the other more race-ready brands is they have pretty frequent maintenance intervals, versus something tuned a little more mildly like the KLX. Am I totally off base here? I've actually seen some decent deals on CL on some used KTMs, but like I said, from a maintenance point of view they intimidate me a little bit. I don't want to have to do a top end every year or an oil change every other ride.

    1)bicycle horn
    2)bicycle mirror
3)headlight (high and low beam with indicator on switch)
    4)taillight with brake like
    5)speedometer
6)NO PLATE LIGHT (didn't come with one from factory)

Correct. You CAN use hand signals. As for the DR350, it has a VIN I'm sure, so it can be titled and ridden in the road. May have to do a title search or file for a lost title. Takes a while but it's doable

I personally wouldn't dual sport a 2stroke. But I also cruise my bike to the store and shiz.
Almost any of the newer bikes are going to require more maintenance then the older thumpers. KTM had a really good run there with the RFS engines. If you want a KTM, I'd try to find one with an RFS engine.

If you don't mind kicking, and you aren't doing back flips, check out the Honda XRRs. Their maintenance is nothing like some of the newer bikes. Super easy bikes to work on when you do have to. Damn near bullet-proof.

My XR250R sat for the winter. Walked out there, turned the gas on, and started first kick.

My newish toy. 2013 CRF250L. Have 1500 miles on it so far. Great bike, I can follow anyone in a 4x4 or atv and go 80mph down the highway. Rode it to Laconia bike week in June. So far I've added moose handgaurds, wolfman saddle bags, 13t front sprocket, and Perrelli MT21 tires.

The wolfman e12 saddle bags are almost a must for any dual sporter. I've tried others and the wolfmans come out on top in every way

If you're still looking for a wr250 there are 2 brand new 2008s at track and trail in state college. $4000 each

Nice looking bike. Do you load and unload that thing into the back of your truck alone?

Thanks. Yes, but I always find some slope/hill to back up to, makes the ramp less steep. How is the riding in your part of the world?

Haha it kind of sucks. I live in major suburbia so I'm at least an hour drive from any real dirt biking. I'm jealous of you guys out west, so much open space.
