Bought a bottle of black plastic renewal and used it on the air box. The picture above shows before and after treatment. A nice improvement for an hour of work. Hope it lasts a while.

Thanks! I spoke with someone yesterday who does the dirt courses. He is in Lafayette off of NJ-15. Got a run down of what he does and he asked that I call him when it gets a little warmer to schedule a course. Really looking forward to it.

That's my intent. I've Always wanted one. Only ridden on the back of a motorcycle. Never alone on one, so this course will be a good indicator if I want to pursue it.

The 525 started up today on the 2nd kick :D. Not bad for my first top-end! Ran it for about two minutes and then called it. Time for a shower and studying for a test tomorrow. Might need a new battery though it's on the charger now.

I'll be riding within the week. :D:D:D:D :bikewheelie2:

That's what I hear. I went through it maintenance-wise and it seems to be in good shape, that's the only reason i feel comfortable dumping that much money into an old bike. I hope it lasts a while!

Gotta add the new rear brake light, front brake banjo bolt switch, wire in the new headlight, wire in the keyed ignition, wire in the top-clamp mounted switches for both headlights, rad fan, and a powerlet socket I added, ideally wire up and install turn signals.

I have a test tomorrow and am generally busy with school shit this week but I plan on getting it at least rideable by next weekend to run it on a break-in circuit.

I really just wanted to get the cam, valves, and head replaced/machined but when I got in there the piston and cylinder showed early signs of bad wear so I decided to just get it all done since I was in there.

5500 miles and about 240 hours on it. Probably could've gone to 330 hours before the piston and cylinder started getting bad.

It was street legal before though barely, the old rear brake light the previous owner put on was tiny and dim, maybe 1/2" wide x 4" long 2 bulb. The new one has 22 led's super bright and is much bigger. I want to add turn signals which weren't on the bike before just because I dislike having to use hand signals all the time. Went LED with those too and got some flasher relays.

Cool. Hand signals do suck, ha. So does not having mirrors.

Maybe ill.make it back out that way this summer. Would be cool to ride and camp for the weekend.

Do you know if the stator puts out enough wattage to power additional lights? I'm not familiar with the Hondas but my KTM is pretty much maxed out with the light that came on it. I could buy a higher output stator or rewind mine but I just don't use it enough at night to justify the additional cost.
