Hey man...the "Oh Snap" was in your corner

Your write up w/ pics was good. Enough so, I went and measured my pedal just minutes ago...

My cut pedal...exactly 3" in length...and approx 2 3/4" off the floor from the carpet. So...very close to yours.

Not a deal breaker, for certain. But, still...given the choice (which I wasn't) I would choose to leave the inch and a quarter on the pedal.

I, too, was told by the dealer that I had to have this done. Everytime I go in for oil service I have to tell, "don't mess with my taco!"

Honestly, the only reason for this recall is because someone couldn't find the ignition to turn it off if the pedal was stuck. The original account had someone calling the dealership on their cellphone before they crashed into a barrier. Natural selection works for me!

I moded 1999 Taco so much it had turned to Land Cruiser
My plan is simple avoid dealership but I am going to have my new tires mounted in the fall, by then I should have bolts holding gas pedal to the floor rounded so no sucker can remove them maybe even loctite them with red., plan to protect ecu is simple Hide DLC connector and replace it with fake one hooked to $30 ECU out of the 1997 Ford Taurus. :D I will have my camera rolling to see the face of the tech trying to upgrade Ford's ECU

I wish that I had read this post before I had mine done today. I am going back tomorrow to pick up the mats they had to order and complaining about how "getto" this looks. At least all the photos I have scene on here they tried to at least make the pedal look normal, mine looks like someone reached in with some shears and cut it strait across... well it is at an angle.

Grow up man, what does obama have to do with gas pedals you sound really ignorant bringing it up in that context IMO. Are you that full of hate, hope you get a chance to read this before Bob deletes it.:p

Maybe Obama is behind the cut gas pedals- The government owns part of GM now.

Well, the shit he says and contradictive things he does mirror the missing logic and effectiveness of cutting these gas pedals. Yes, I'm full of hate for the stupidity that is ruining our country. I see you have a bit of hate towards the ineffective justice system with your vigilante comment in your sig which I don't disagree with. Ignorant, hardly...:D
