ok, this one was done on 1080P...not that big a change

what did make all the dif was changing the white balance to "spot" instead of (i think) average. no more blinding screens coming out into the sun and no black hole screens going into shade

We just got some Vector mounts in, they are pretty cool. We should have the HERO3 silvers in within the next week.

Watch the video made with the vector mount. So smooth in the turns!

Just bought some Hero2's and a Hero 3. Using 3 for the first time today. One of your new 2's is already broken. GoPro quality continues to suck. Let's see if the 3 is as kickass as it sounds.

EDIT: While this Hero 3 is smaller and lighter, it seems to have a slightly worse image than a 2. I believe this is the "White Edition" of the 3.
EDIT AGAIN: Aaaaaand you're only allowed the option of having "ultra-wide" field of view w/ this White Version. Silver and Black allow you to change Medium/Narrow/etc. Grrrr...

Your "ultra-wide" setting on the Black gives you the fisheye you may be looking for. It also has the ability to change your field of view. See my previous post for my aggravation with the White.

Ok im new to the GoPro. I just got mine the other day, and this may already be answered in here but I didnt look through all 29 pages. What is the best way to aim the gopro since it doesnt have a screen or anything? And is the lcd screen something I should look into purchasing? Thanks in advance any help would be great

Use the lens as a frame, meaning if you can see it reflect on the fisheye lens then that's what you're recording. Then, when you change field of view, just narrow your shots accordingly. Do some test recordings, and you'll be fine within an hour.

Not sure which one you got but the WiFi backpack can be used with a smartphone app to help aim the camera.

But generally speaking, make sure the lens is parallel to your subject. If you're using the chest mount, that means tilted up when you're riding a bike. For a helmet mount, it could be up or most likely down a bit.

It shows what the camera sees.

I like the WiFi better because I'm not always looking at the back. And with the app, you can see and control the camera (there's also a remote control that comes with the WiFi). The app is slow but acceptable for framing the shot.

The reason i was thinking bout the lcd screen is because im going to alaska on a big horn sheep hunt andim almost 100% sure there is no wifi or anything out there lol so the app and wifi bacpac wont work. I would rather get the wifi though just only if it worked out there. I had to go out and buy 5 more spare batteries and a bunch of stuff cuz there isnt power out there either

The WiFi backpack creates a network link between your phone and the camera. Doesn't matter whether there are WiFi networks where you are.

    Great thread!

Here is my contribution. The stills are from a digi-cam, but the video is GoProHero2. I like the lcd screen for aiming, but it likes to rotate the image independent of what you have the camera doing. You can end up with upside-down footage to edit later. :)

My son and I finished a Factory Five Racing replica of a Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe in time for a huge Cobra car show 600 miles away. The video is our log of the trip:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XF2XsYl9ZLI

Oh, and the song is Lindsay Mac "Barbies and Broncos" - Saw her on the Bob and Tom show a while back:
