I just ordered this for my DSLR (not really GoPro related though I suppose you could mount one on it). Been wanting this for a while.

If you find a link, shoot it to me if you wouldn't mind. I haven't really looked into it, just took it out of the box and ran with it.

Will do. I looked it up the other day and it was on their website. I had my Mac with me and I have my settings set for only approved downloads so I couldn't open it. I could have but I have WAY too much money invested in this MacBook Pro to take a chance. I'll get on one of my PC laptops (that I really don't give a shit if I brick or not) and tell you how it works.

Is that to calibrate it by your self or the firmware update? I see the firmware for the evolution there.

Both. One should be the firmware update and one should be a program where you can calibrate the PID for the gimbal calibration.

A little off subject but here are a few unedited / unprocessed shots taken from the drone while on vacation. I've got about 3 hrs of footage to sort through to put together a video. These scenes were taken at about 2000' away from shore at 2.7' off the surface.

Click the wheel if it doesn't automatically put it in HD. It was recorded at 4k

And the drone safely back to shore

Okay.... Got the software loaded for the gimbal and updated the firmware and recalibrated the gimbal back to 0. Works perfectly again :)

Was it easy? I'm okay, but not too tech-savvy. I'm not even sure if mine is off any, but it couldn't hurt.

If your's isn't out of balance I wouldn't mess with it. Now... Upgrading the firmware was simple. Upgrading the gimbal gives you step by step instructions but I kept failing at step 4 until AFTER I did the firmware update. It's actually pretty easy and follow since it gives you pictures of how to orient the gimbal system.

I downloaded everything. For some reason when i plug my gimbal in, it isn't recognized in the driver when i power it on.

You open it with the software that they provide. There is a tab at the top that says upgrade firmware. Check the third picture down from a few posts ago.

Yeah i seen all of that from the post and have the same calibration screen and everything but when i plug my gimbal in and turn it on, its like the driver isn't finding it. When i open the program i can even open the browse tab and load the update into it but the "Open" button isn't even highlighted. I tried hooking it with the charger usb that came with the gimbal and even another one. Not sure why

That is weird. I just used a random cable I had laying around and hooked it up. Did you load the USB driver that is on the DL page? If not, that's why it isn't recognizing it I would imagine. There should be three packages you should download from the page to make everything work.

One thing I did find out about these gimbals is there is a lot of trial and error with these. Since almost every gimbal system (doesn't matter the brand) is made in China or some part of Asia most of the info is in a foreign language. I actually watched a video in Chinese and got the jest of what he was doing. The rest I had to figure out on my own. This isn't a knock on China or Asia since they are the ones that make the best gimbals (and quadcopters) you can buy. There may be an American gimbal company out there but if there is I haven't heard of them.

DJI makes arguably the best gimbals, quadcopters, camera mounting systems out there but if you ever have to have anything serviced it sucks. I've got over $5k in my Drone alone with another $2600 slider coming today. Everything is great when it works but it's a pain when it doesn't.

My gimbal failed while on Vacation this week which meant I couldn't use it for what I wanted to use if for but it wasn't the end of the world. Luckily the iPhone takes exceptionally good video lol. Just not stabilized.

Forgot to mention... You will eventually be forced into calibrating the gimbal since temp, sitting for long periods of not being used, etc... will eventually make the gimbal go out of calibration. It's nice to know how to get it back now.

I downloaded 3 things on the DL page. I can't remember them all since i'm at work but it was the update, the calibration software, and something else. I'll have to give it another look when i get home. I'm sure it probably needs calibrated because i throw it in a bag when i'm riding the rzr after getting the shots i want here and there.
