    So, if a cargo ship has a bunch of helicopters in the hold, would we be considered an aircraft carrier? :)

    I was a bit surprised at how big the Blackhawks are and how small the Chinooks are. I guess I'd always had it in my mind that it was close to a CH53 but it doesn't seem anywhere that big. The rotor blades being off might be skewing my perception a bit too

    I'm in Great Falls, MT for work for awhile, and the apt I'm staying in is right across the street from the hospital helipad. Yesterday they moved theirs over to make room for another, I assume for some sort of maintenance. I run outside every time I hear it start like a kid to the ice cream truck.

    The pilots stay in the apt above me when they're on shift, I think I need to make friends with them.

    They have 5 facilities throughout the state, this is the largest.

    That is a wire cutter!!! one high and one low. if it goes between that and the main rotor or the skids......you have big problems!

    yeah, or the thin lightning strike wires you see high above the power lines ines. that thing can cut through some very thick stuff. a big physics lesson!
