    Great thread!

I did an introductory flight with an instructor in the early '90s.... R-22s are a bitch to hover, I thought.

At times, I wish I earned my rotary ticket... Helis are cool.

My dad started out in R22s and R44s, put a couple hundred hours in them before going to turbines. He says the Robinson is the Mazda Miata of helicopters, very nimble and hard to hover. He says a Jet Ranger flys like a 72' Coupe de Ville !

Don't let the linemen hear you calling them electricians, they get touchy about that shit hahaha!!
Yeah it's fun work man. All sorts of environments and locations. Challenging flying for sure.

It's not stupid. There are wheel attachments different to each specific aircraft. It usually attaches with two bolts and uses some type of bottle jack integrated in it. then its just a matter an manpower to walk it or tow it where you want to take it.

There are also platforms designed to actually land on that serve as a towable platform as well.

Yep what doc said. Two pins on the back of the skids that wheels clip onto. You use a lever to raise the wheels and lock them in place and roll it.

There are manual trolley type things too that go in under the skids and lift hydraulically. Has a forward and reverse.

The one in the pics is a 530. Bigger engine, longer blades. More power :) Hard to tell the difference between them though, pretty much the same airframe.
