my dad is on the way out to Mesa AZ right now and said he would send me a photo of the battery operated "wireless" cart they use at the Police Department to pull the ship out to the ramp. Supposedly it pushes up under the belly like a scissor lift, then they drive it out with a wireless hand controller, sounds cool.

A guy I met in Sulphur LA had this remote controlled dolly. He'd just sit in his aircraft and drive himself to the hangar. Pretty cool. It was a $30k dolly though

Nice piece of kit. Ask him if the belly is reinforced to take the weight.

Been a helicopter crewman / rescue swimmer in the navy for the past 15 years. Definitely had its fun times and scary times. My most recent deployments have been counter-narco terrorism operations in South America.

    Good times for sure.

This is a cool thread :)

I'm surprised to see we have quite a few rotary guys here... I will confess, you guys are TRULY pilots, flying an actual machine.... a machine that has hundreds of components wanting to tear each other apart.

As a fixed winger, I tip my hat to you all.

I know one of our TW Mods, Brunes is a Coast Guard heli driver.

Plenty of people have. There is a big investigation going on at the moment though cause a lot of schools were abusing the shit out of it. Charging crazy amount ms for aircraft, training guys in turbines for rating, etc, which is absurd. They possibly ruined it for good...

Yeah it sure does. I heard of one guy's training costing nearly $500,000. Completely outrageous, seeing that you can do it for $70-$75k.

It's a 530FF. Bigger engine (C30 vs a C20 in the E and D), longer blades too for better performance.
