Good one Jan. Listening to Scott two years in a row was a mistake. First year he parks the cars 30 miles away and this year 5 miles.

Took the kayak out for it's "maiden voyage" this morning. It did great. I'm tired, but relaxed. I just paddled around West Point Lake and if I got tired, I found a shady spot and just chilled. Didn't want to leave, but I didn't pack a lunch, so I did. Only thing I thought about while sitting out there was, "Why didn't I do this years ago?"

Subbed. I'm on my third fishing kayak. First I had a Hobie Pro Angler, and now have my second Native Ultimate 12 (current one in camo). I have began ordering stuff to make a home-made dashboard setup... Planned to have two Ram mount rod holders, ram mount drink holder (for beer of course), tool tray for players and such, and what ever else I think up. Also need to make a milk crate setup to hold items and bolt on rod holders.

I have visited the park in Wekiwa Springs. Very nice place. I also paddled Ichetuknee springs back in february and that was incredible. I am going to plan on checking out Econ on my next weekend off.

So I have been kicking the idea of buying a kayak for a couple months. Well the wife pulled the trigger the other day so when I got home I had a perception tribe 13.5 ft tandem waiting. So now I'm itching to get on the water but need to figure out what is the best way to haul this beast. Looking for some suggestions and pros and cons of different set ups. any help is greatly appreciated.

    Cheers.

Always transport kayaks on their side. I use ratcheting tie downs. I just put them in back with tailgate up. Easier to transport 2 or more. We have Perception Keowee and Swifty, and have been kayaking for 18yrs+. :D

Great way to relax. We've done overnights with the dogs (they usually sit still), and up to class 3 rapids, and even a little 3ft waterfall :yay:

No need for complicated and expensive roof racks when 12 foot boats fit just fine in the bed

Highly illegal to leave 6' of yak out of your bed.

3' is the max per DOT.

Have fun paying for the tickets

Hey all. My wife and I just bought 2 Precision Sport Pescador 10' sit on top kayaks. Im trying to figure out the best transport option for my Yakima rack on top of my camper shell.

    Heres my set up:

Im thinking J hook type, but need some direction. I want to save as much space as possible, as we might put a bike on as well when vacationing.

Also, the biggest requirement is something that's easy for my wife to do by herself.

Im not looking to break the bank on 2 sets. Are there any other good brands besides the obvious Yakima? Ive seen the ones on Amazon that come with 4 for $100, but the reviews aren't so hot.
