Wanting to pickup a Jackson Big Rig, Mayfly, Coosa HD, OK Prowler Big Game II, Nucanoe Pursuit/Frontier or similar sized boat this year.

Anyone with some insight on these boats?

Primary usage: Flat water fishing, lakes, ponds, slow meandering rivers.

It is possible to have Xsporter and a tonneau.....use the racks when carrying boards/boats and use tonneau when not carrying them. Works the same way with the goal post extender rack.

Bit the bullet and placed an order for the Xsporter. Thule items are on sale at many retailers until the 28th of May. Placed an order from eTrailer vs Amazon to avoid the sales tax. eTrailer has been good to me in the past. Think I got a pretty good deal for a new unit that is normally $799...and free shipping.

Hey all! I picked up some roof racks and am picking up a canoe soon. Plan to do some canoeing in the city which I will be able to manage fine with the racks. For long distance hauling I'd like to build a support at the back of the bed as I will be hauling a trailer. Can anyone point me to a diy? There are many many pages. I was thinking something made out of wood that I can cinch down to the d rings on the bed (not the tracks).

    Cheers!

    Same question here.

I've been to a local dealer a couple times and looked at the Jackson boats.

They had the Coosa HD in stock and are waiting on the BigRig. I'm thinking that would work nicely. I'd also like to look at the Hobie with the pedal drives, too.

I've looked at them all but have yet to paddle them. I dont think you can go wrong with any quality yak. I just floated a whole afternoon in a 10' Old Town Vapor and was fairly satisfied. I know anything quality I'll be ecstatic with once I do make a purchase.

Had 2 pairs of J bars come in this morning. Going to mount them on the Prinsu tonight. Hopefully making it out on Long Island Sound this weekend, seas are at 2-3 feet today so it's a no-go.

Does anyone use J Bars on a KB Voodoo? I'm running a tracone rack but hate how high it is (and don't have the means to cut it). I've got a good offer on an unused KB VooDoo rack and want to know how my standard Amazon J racks will hold up?

Are you wondering about the quality of the J Bars or whether or not they will mount to the KB Voodoo?

Should have clarified, I'm wondering if and how people are mounting them.

Please show which ones you get and how you mount them. Not sure if it is just like normal or different because of the way prinsu makes their racks.

I just got some no-name Amazon J Bars. They're definitely made out of some weapons grade Chinesium but they'll still do the job. They're made for the round bar style rack, not rectangular like the prinsu. I wouldn't shake the truck while holding the bars like you could on the prinsu, and the kayaks are only 50lbs each anyway. I also zip tied the racks together for some more support, and so they could be as close as possible but not rattle when contacting each other.

I have the same exact set that I’m putting on my prinsu for a 7 hour drive to FL on Saturday. I went to Lowe’s and bought a flat bar and made new bottom pieces due to the round bar design. Only mounted one set tonight, but put a kayak on it for the drive to work tomorrow. I can move my whole truck 2-3 inches side to side pulling and pushing on the kayak, so I think it is pretty solid. I have the strap on each going to the prinsu, not just to the J mounts.

Be careful. It's not worth skimping on the roof rack/assessories. I always think that if my kayak falls or my rack fails it has the possiblity to kill or injure someone on the freeway.
