So far it works great and cradles the side of the yak perfect.

^ glad you had a good day on the water!

I cant wait till my broken finger is healed up now that the weather is actually enjoyable. I plan on keeping a kayak on my roof for a while so I have no excuse for not using it.

damn! broken finger sucks. Hope it heals up quick!

Do any of you guys do any cold water kayaking? I am thinking about investing in some kind of dry suit and a cockpit cover for my yak so I can keep going out on the lake when the weather gets a little colder.

Anyone know what this bug is? I found it down on the bottom of the river where it was really shallow. It is on the left side of the rock, had 2 claw/leg like things.

:bananadead: that sucks big time. it doesn't get quite that high here but it does get to about 98-100 with 98% humidity. It is absolutely killer. It was like that a few weeks ago and the river felt like a damn bathtub. It was not anywhere near refreshing

Thought I'd post my most recent WW trip to the New River in WV. I also sold my Dagger Blackwater 10.5 which I posted earlier in the thread and bought a Dagger Mamba 8.0 WW kayak. Check it out!

Here is my truck packed up ready to go, the green boat is mine, the pink one is my cousins. Its a Pyranha Burn.

Glad you are enjoying it! congrats on the purchase! TW is a very expensive site that is for sure! lol. as for getting in to it in the water, I dont have too much of an issue. I actually lift myself over the front of the boat and straddle it with my legs and scoot up to the cockpit. It is a little difficult at first so I recommend you try it in deep, yet shallow enough water (maybe a pool if you have access) just so you can get a good feel for how the boat moves while doing that.

Question. Does anyone know of a good rack setup that could be used on OEM roof racks? I have a '07 DCSB with a canopy, I want to put a rack on the truck for my 14.5' without having it hanging off the back.

Yakima makes a mount that clamps to the OEM rails. It is called the Yakima Railgrab

for years in been wanting to start kayaking and now after getting a brand new car(the taco ) this summer, i decided its time to finally get a kayak! i was hoping you guys could steer me in the direction of what some good kayaks and paddles would be for my purpose. i would like to spend $1,000 or less. i want a 1 person kayak thats like 8 to 10 feet and the types of waters i want to kayak r moderate to large rivers like the east river or hudson river to the ocean when its relatively calm. i have a neighbor whos an avid kayaker but money is no object to him so id hate to hear his suggestions. i have never kayaked before but my neighbor said he'd give me the needed pointers. thank u guys very much in advance!!
