Nice...yeah, that's not cranked up at all. About 1.5-2" of thread showing should level you out.

Thanks for the help, wish I had an extra set of hands yesterday to help me do the install haha. Knocked out the full install in 5 hours.

Anyways if you say 1.5-2 inches of thread showing, how many threads is that?

Keep an eye on that resi tube. Looks really close to the UCA, but I could be wrong....hard to tell from pic. If it is close just loosen and turn the resi some and it should pull away....then tighten it back.

also, what leaf pack are you running?that could make a difference as well as far as leveling out goes.

im running the stock 4 leaf aka tsb packs...

i guess im going to have fun taking out the shocks tomorrow. how much force was needed to adjust them. i heard they are pretty hard to turn without a spring compressor

use a spring compressor...the pressure applied by the spring could throw the end off-thread.

no worriesalso, if you plan on getting an aftermarket leaf pack, might as well adjust higher now so you dont have to do it again.

Is this something you could take to an auto shop and have them adjust for you?

this method of removing the coilover from the truck to compress the spring is pretty much having them un-intsall and re-install the front shocks....it wouldn't be cheap for a shop to do this I imagine. they would need to have a spring compressor too, not all shops have one.

Ahhh, but it is necessary if you want to load it up for a little more lift though, right? I have yet to install them on my truck and right now they are at four threads showing. I'm assuming I would want to crank them out just a bit more so I could get a little more lift out of them.

ya it would be best to adjust them now before installing. the difficult task is knowing how much to preload it to get the desired lift while maintaining the ride quality. obviously if you crank em up to a 3" lift they won't ride quite as nice.

socaltacos has posted pics of how much preload his shocks have, maybe dig thru his gallary and see if you like the amount of lift he has.

Typically places charge about $100 each shock to remove coils, adjust and re-install.
