    I started by visiting the canyonlands np website. Somewhere on their site I found a phone number to the park's main office in moab and just called them and asked questions.

    They do make you submit a formal request (I did it by fax) with your dates and itinerary and such but the guy on the phone told me to submit a request for a particular date and site because one was available.

    It would be awesome to have a lil larger group to and a couple camps combined on white rim. If we can figure an exact date to apply for it would be fairly easy to accommodate 6 or 9 vehicles at the campground. We just have to act fairly soon. With that being said, should we start an official poll to decide on next years dates? Not just for white rim, but for the permits for the entire event?

    it sounded like the 16-19 was our best option with schools wrapping up and falling after EJS and Cruise (end of April and first weekend in May)...and this should put us before GONE as well...the side by side event has not caused any major issues in the past couple years.

    it's either May 9-12 or 16-19...and earlier conversations showed the second date was best.

    much past that the desert side of moab starts to show more and just gets hot..

    Date wise im down. Actually i can go anytime it's my wife thats in school i have to wait for. As far as camping goes well im taking my 94 toyota pup trailer (it's my camper/ where i keep most of my spare parts) and seeing how as it's on 35's i was thinking about doing a trial or two with it just for the photo ops.

    so goneMOAB is May 19-25th so we'll be May 15-19th or May 29nd-june 2nd

    rally on the rocks (side by sides) will be May 15-18th, but they haven't been an issue in the past.

    got an email out to Olaf to see how May is looking at BFE

    anyone know how hot it gets over there by the end of May?

    probably several degrees hotter than it was last year... just an educated guess...

    edit:
    Avg high in may and june is 83 and 93. So, I would guess the highs would be in the upper 80's low 90's.

    so there will be a UTV race held at BFE on the 18th. Olaf says that it should not effect our site which will be at the lower lot again.
