I hear you on time, I plan on spending all of Sunday prepping and getting stuff in order. Need to stop off at Toyota and pick up some MISC nuts and bolts, extra limit straps, fluids, etc. Hope I get everything done lol

    I like!
I was thinking of mounting larger dump cans when I get the rear LT, but those look great.

When you carry your tent, you can roll like this. Plus, I think they make 4 gallon containers too.

Matt, do you have a better picture of your spare tire and how it's mounted? Does the Y strap work pretty good or do you have it bolted down also?

Looks pretty cool, but I probably won't have that rack too much longer.
    Gotta go custom.

I like that setup looks good. but the way we drive in the Mojave everything will probably come loose haha.

I don't but I can walk outside and get you some pics if you want something specific.

I've been using that strap for close to a year without any issues. I use the rear 2 factory D-Rings and mounted a front D-Ring with a back support plate for the front. It's seen 20+ desert trips and been more than fine.

What lights do you have to install, Dave? And Johnnie, that third d-ring that Matt has for his spare, you can get from Toyota and comes with the backing plate. I see no reason why it wouldn't work on a first gen.

Its funny, it shows like half of the people going on this trip are currently viewing the thread.

    Matt-

If you can post a picture of how you have it mounted that would be great. After we return from Mojave I'm going to mount my spare tire in the bed. Please post a picture of the D-ring.

I don't want the spare tire pulling up the bed or tearing it.

Dust lights are priority, but I have bed lights and rock lights to get on also.

About the D-ring, the OEM replacements for 2nd gen are pretty stout and come with a nice backing plate like Chris mentioned. But they are like $20 a piece I think.
