that was my initial impression. Perhaps someone who was in an accident will want them eventually.

 

a buddy of mine hit a bird on the highway and cracked the housing. I found him a few sets locally in ct for around $200 and he ended up getting a set for $200 even. That’s in CT though idk about your area

The discrepancy between new and used prices on some OEM parts are nuts. Guess it’s a bi-product of aftermarket availability for the platform.

 

Seems reasonable to me. Quick look through the parts catalog new is over $500 per side

Guess it really depends how long you want to hold on to them

People rip off the stock halogens for LED all the time, too. I'm not sure if that one above is 1:1 what you have, but it's OEM halogen for 65 shipped (for one).

 

To be fair, that one has no DRL, where @Inoculum seems to have it.
Also that eBay one seems to have a good amount of broken tabs/plastic

Thanks - I thought it was less DRL but didn't dig. So 1-150 seems reasonable for one then. just low demand. I have a friend trying to sell a bed rack at a decent price and it's just not moving since there's no demand right now.

 

I feel like one could build a truck from low price-lightly-used OEM tacoma parts off this forum for a couple grand

 

The problem with oem headlights is a lot of people swap them with inferior aftermarket ones that look “cooler” so there’s generally not a lack of supply. Plus if something happens and you break one they just see aftermarket are cheaper then new oem and go that route. That’s at least my thoughts on why there is such a difference in price
