Ok we already do that in my thread? have you seen the second to last page? Connor posted about the possible up and coming D600

Mike also posted about a blog interview he did.

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/photography/126047-official-photography-thread-376.html

On almost every page there is a question regarding photography.

We all talk about the gear/set up we're using.

AND almost every page has some sort of discussion.
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/photography/126047-official-photography-thread-346.html

where we all gain knowledge. Myself, ian, mike, and lots of others are very, very knowledgable, and we help out a lot in that thread with tips and tricks.

Dude, i just proved to every single one of your points that this thread is redundant. Just accept it and move on.

By the way, have you ever enganged, and asked questions, or posted about new cameras or gear, or even look to see what we post in that thread? if you have you would already know why this thread is a duplicate, and we could have avoided this all together.

AND on top of it, WE ALL build off eachother. i made that thread because there is photography talent on TW. and its a place where we can talk, gain knowledge, help each other, talk about up and coming gear, share new techniques, talk about our own personal gear, to share photography stories, and to post photos as well. which we have done all of in that thread. which would make this thread completely, 100%, without a doubt pointless/redundant. If you STILL can't see that. Then its totally beyond me.

Sweet! Yeah that would've came out better with a RAW file but for JPG it's not too bad. :p

I definitely need to look into software in addition to LR4 and CS5.

Knock off the name calling. Right now, we're not deleting this thread. If you guys want a thread to BS in, Fine. Now if the name calling, and other bullshit insults continue, this thread will be gone, and other measures will be taken.

I prefer one thread... Saves having to answer similar questions in multiple locations...

Kinda like the truck sections where you have hundreds of questions about spacers lifts in the suspension sub forum...

You will always get input from whoever feels like posting, but sometimes the seasoned veterans won't drop their knowledge cuz it gets tedious jumping thread to thread...

Personally I think the best way is to do a search in the forum about your topic, see what has been said previously, and if you want more detailed info, PM the people whose thread replies intrigue you the most... You will likely get a more in depth explanation...

We revied the thread, and dont see an issue with this one. Seems the OP created this one to keep the BS in it, and pics in the other. Some folks have different browsers, or internet connections, and trying to sift thru a pic loaded thread can be a slow endevor. Lets get back on the topic at hand, rather than debate which thread is good vs. a waste. :)

before we get back on topic i would just like to apologize to everyone for my actions and vulgar language. i let myself get out of hand and overreacted to the situation.

now back to where we were.

we all know that Nikon and Cannon are two main camera companies we see being used, but what about the camera companies like sony who aren't seen very often. are they not liked by most people or do you guys think its a popularity contest (if thats the right term to use) between Nikon and Canon? does anyone shoot or has anyone one shot with or enjoy shooting with a less popular camera company?

It's popularity IMO. Sony has some good cameras, a friend of mine uses one and he comes up with some good images.

I don't think Sony will ever get on Canon or Nikon's level. But only time will tell.

do you think they are more of a point and shoot camera company and won't be able to keep up with popularity of the DSLR camera companies like Nikon and Canon?

I don't think that's quite the case. Sony just isn't as popular as Nikon or Canon. Look at the sidelines of sporting events, you see Nikons and Canons...just the way things go. You just don't see anything other than that.

The are Sony cameras that are really nice, that have high specs but just don't sell like the Canons or Nikons. I mean take this one for example, the Sony a77. Ridiculous camera, 24mp, 12fps, 19 point autofocus, and so on. Take a look here...very nice camera, its just in the shadows.
