    I did this last year (but 2x4) and I couldn’t have been happier with the service and improvement to my MPGs. Went 5.29 out back, no locker.

    Question. During the gearing process do they put in new bearings, new pinion crush sleeve, seals, etc etc? I know some people use a solid spacer for this to get a more accurate preload on the pinion...

    Or is he just replacing ring gear and pinion and reusing old bearings?

    Most of those are part of the master kits, including seals.

    Sounds good.

    I am just asking these questions in case other people want to know. Changing the seals should be standard practice.. Is he replacing all bearings, I do not know? But I will check.

    I just spoke to ECGS and they change ALL bearings in their rebuilds.. They even have an option to use a solid spacer instead of a crush sleeve to get the pinion preload dialed in correctly. But I have no idea what is the standard practice on rebuilding these.

    ECGS has to replace their bearings in all their builds because they can get a destroyed diff from a 2006 Tacoma, rebuild it, paint it, and ship it out to go on a 2015 or 2020. You'll notice it's a $200 upgrade for new Koyo bearings. Most times they salvage good used bearings off trucks with 100k or less miles and just reuse those. These 2018-2021's with 10k miles on them don't really need new bearings or seals, everything is very new. Premier uses all OEM equivalent seals but for most of the newer trucks, it's just not necessary. For your truck that's a little older and has more miles, yes, new bearings and seals is much more necessary.

    I sent a message to Miguel earlier to get the answers for some of these more specific questions so I can directly answer in the future :fistbump:

    Okay answers to your questions! Yes, FULL master kits with bearings and seals. I added a picture of what a master kit from Nitro gears looks like so you have an idea.

    Solid spacers are available from $150 front/rear, with the option to purchase just one for $75. Miguel noted it's really only worth it to add a solid spacer to the rear as that's your driving gears and you put a all miles on the rear diff.
