honestly the mpg ratings of the new 4cyl turbo engine in the Tacoma are kind of disappointing. Even the the 5.0L V8 in the full size F150 get almost the same mpg. Let’s see what the hybrid iforce max can do..

if you want a better gas mileage truck look at the 1/2 ton Silverado/Sierra with the 3.0L I6 duramax diesel. They get about 30mpg.

 

Torque is what matters in a truck though.

 

I will admidt, I am not a big MPG guy. However, when you introduce a all new smaller displacement turbo engine with less HP in a all new truck, and costing about $10 grand more, I do expect something...

I just looked up my 2022, and it showed sale price as $42,500 (was on the lot with options already on it) and I was out for $48k. There is a lot of BS on there. And when you're sitting there and they won't remove their BS protection plan for you, you just pay it so you can move on with your life

 

For all our CDN members the 2020 TRD OR Premium web site priced, pre taxes was $48.7. 2023 that increased to $52.6 and for the 2024, $58.3.

Again, same configuration, pre taxes and add-ons, website pricing. I'm sorry but in my view this is her craziness.

$45k-$47k would be understandable for a starting point on a limited since it's 4WD only but what extra are you getting with this new gen that I'm missing?

 

A 2023 4x4 Limited with tonneau, mats and mudguards is $47,000. I guess I’m not surprised Toyota jacked the price at least $5000.

 

Msrps are suggested prices. If the market can’t handle the Tacoma … cash on the hood. Just like the tundras that have 5k+ now

Yeah, I don't consider those costs in the price of the vehicle cause neither Toyota nor the dealers do. They're additional "price of doing business" charges.

 

Seems like the TRD off road does not have ATRAC? 2nd and 3rd gen off roads had it. What’s up with that?

 

It's the bottom line of the MSRP it absolutely matters in the price. My Tacoma had $5,560 in options on it. If I'm shopping a used Tacoma and see a base OR with halogen lights and cloth seats with no 360 camera for the same price of one with those options which one am I buying? Options count.

 

you shouldn't though, I went to several dealers, some had markups, some had bs shit like that. So I walked away until I found a good deal.

 

That’s interesting because in some countries those are required by law to be put into the price on the website based on your location. America’s one of those few places where you can advertise the price without taxes.
