Just got an email from Redline. The shocks are the same shocks in the Plus and the Elite. The ONLY difference is that the Elites are SS and the Plus is Black. Other than that, there is no difference. I was told I would be more than happy with the Plus if shiney wasn't my thing. I like SS, just not for 30 bucks under my hood lol.

just an update if anyone was on the fence about this.

For me, this sealed the deal. Plus and EZ down are going to make a cameo's at my house very soon!

    Thanks again!

Not yet. Gotta buy some tools for install. They recommend Craftsman Rivet Gun priced $10.00-$18.00.

Wanna take my time and be careful with the hood.

For those who have installed I have one question concerning the measuring. Where exactly do you measure the 16 inches from? I have included a picture with red lines as to where I think you start from is...could someone please tell me if I am right!

I just installed my Hood Shocks and I must say that this was a great buy. I installed the plus shocks and I was very surprised at how tough they are......they are an extremely well built shock (worth the money). I was thinking of buying the more expensive shocks but the ones I got are excellent and I love the fact that they are black. I wish I had done this sooner! The install was very easy and went smooth.

Where are you guys relocating the push pin that is on the drivers side rail. I noticed it got in the way when closing the hood?

    Tip:
When bolting down the bracket to the fender wall, I just fit the bracket between the small gap that is kinda close to where the 8 1/4 measured. It makes the bracket flush against the wall. I really didn't want to bolt into the area where the measurement ended (it was covered in some type of glue where 2 pieces of sheet metal meet up).

    I'll get some pics tonight.

    Description:

It sits along the drivers side edge and is attached with a 10mm bolt. I had to take it off because the Hood Shock was hitting it and it would not close.

I have a 2006 DC, maybe they change the location of the pin in newer models.

I was on the fence about the EZ down, if your thinking of selling it let me know. I might just get it off your hands if you didn't like it.

FYI, not trying to lose any deals for tarheelfan, but I just got an email from Redline confirming that the EZ Down will not work past 2007. I know this is what it says in the product name on their website, but I wanted to independently confirm.

Definitely in for a pair of Hood Struts, though. I'm going to place my order tonight when I get home. I'll add my name to the list once I have confirmation!
