Beautiful. Dad gave me his Mod 17 he bought in the 1950s. He said he would rather see me enjoy it while he was alive than just have it go to me from the will.

Does anybody here carry a 686+ 3 or 4 inch barrel iwb. I've been thinking about getting one to carry occasionally. I have a 6 inch model 66 I've carried hunting owb but I'd like something with a shorter barrel so I can get in my truck without taking it off. Wasnt sure if the 686 would be to fat iwb or the barrel would still get in the way.

    I normally carry a 642 j frame 2.5 inch barrel in a pocket holster or a 380 bodygaurd

I carry a Taurus 66 4" iwb which is a 7 shot .357, its all ive every carried iwb, and I've done it basically everyday that I wasnt on a plane or out if the country for the past 4 years or so. I wear an undershirt because the grip feels bad against my bare skin all day. Its quite doable but it probably isnt the easiest thing to wear everyday. If you have your mind set that you can, I think you won't have any real issue. I'm 6'2 180 lbs btw if that gives you any kinda of frame reference

Yea I really want to get the next frame size up from the model 66 so I can keep buffalo bore or other high powered type ammo in it without worry. After shooting a couple thousand rounds through my mod 66 nothing else really feels right.
I bought a xd 9mm a few years ago with intentions on carrying it and have maybe shot one box of ammo through it.

You thought about wood grips on yours? That's what I have on my 357 I'd imagine an smooth set of wood grips wouldnt rub on you to much.

In all seriousness, the DW's are super cool. I've wanted one of their kits since the first time I saw one.

Wood grips would definitely feel better, I've just gotten used to wearing two shirts ha ha may have to look into some grips now that you mention it

Anyone going to grab one of the new model Colt Pythons, mmmm.

    Python6.jpg

Was watching a video last night and the guy who made it
was saying everyone who bought the older pythons for
collecting better sell them because the values of them
are going to tank, hmmm. o_O
