I hope you know I was kidding. Selling a gun to pursue a lifestyle like living in such a beautiful part of the world was a small price to pay.

Still looking for a good set of grips for my 17-9. I tried a set of Pachmayr small presentation grips but I found them chunky and heavy. The stock grips are pretty but terrible to shoot with. I kept seeing Fitz Ten-O grips on eBay and since this is a plinker and bullseye fun gun for me I thought maybe they’ll fit the bill. They’re comfortable and point well at home, we’ll see what they do at the range next week.

If you like the look of the stock grips, maybe you’ll find that a Tyler grip insert does the trick for you. An “old school” mod. E16433EC-9A32-41AB-BE28-98B73A5BFD01.jpg

I’ve tried the similar BK grip adapter but didn’t like the finger grooves. I have one of the smooth adapters (Mershon, Pachmayr, maybe others) on my 10-5, it’s great.

This thing is starting to look pretty serious for a 22 lol. I found an ultra dot at a local pawn shop for a good price, so I added it with a weaver rail. 11959FFD-31DA-4046-8139-494E653B262E.jpg

I scored one of the new Colt King Cobras a few months back, sweet revolver. The wood 'target' grip that came with it are sexy but only good with 38sp as full power magnum loads tear up your middle finger. The frame is not the same as the old King Cobra, it takes the smaller grip of the Detective Special. I'll keep it with the original parts & box as trading fodder

edit:....ive grown to like the beast and now keep it in the Prius vault

Anybody have a good place to find some "cheap" 357 mag or 38 spl ammo? My usual online order place was out of both for like a year and finally got some Underwood 357 in but it's boxes of 20 for more than I would wanna pay for boxes of 50. I have enough carry ammo (well I have 15-20 rounds) but I would love to find a few boxes to plink with

It’s been a minute since I’ve seen any plinking priced 38 or 357. Last couple boxes I saw were locally remanufactured 38 wadcutters, $30 for 50. I’ve moved most of my practice to my 22’s...

There are some nice wheel guns in here. My first and one of my favorites that I’ve had for the last 22 years.

S&W 681-3 with a set of Crimson Trace grips.

    I have a no dash 686 in 4" and a dash 1 2 1/2", but I've always liked the fixed sight 681's best.

    I wish Smith had made a 2.5" or 3" 681.

We have a rule on my property: squirrels in the trees next to the house are considered varmints. They get in to the bird feeder, harass the dog, and I don’t want them getting in to our attic.

This bugger decided to hang out in the birch tree right outside the front door, and barked at the dog all morning. I decided it was time to see how well I sighted in my 4-dot. Smith & Wesson 17-9, ultradot 4 dot, Fitz Ten-O target grips.

I found another nice S&W to add to the collection a couple of weeks ago. Model 27-2, SN dates it to 1977. Got the original case, tools and paperwork with it. It's been fired, but it can't have been much, there is hardly a turn line and the finish and stocks are perfect. I was looking for a m25, but I think I'd rather have this one. Makes a great companion to my M28-2 (1973), and my two K-frame .357's, a M19-3 (1974) and a M66-1 (1980)

    Love the 2.5" 66. Mines a dash 2, bought a 3" dash 2 to go with it.
