This is my only safe queen firearm. I may sell it to a collector or trade it for an HK MP5 when I leave California. I have Sigs, Glocks, Berettas, plus a Taurus revolver to shoot.

Decided that I was done getting poked in the side by the pointy hammer spur on my beater heater model 10. I found a complete stainless DAO hammer on eBay for a reasonable price and swapped out the original hammer. Dry fire works fine, I’ll head to the range this week to test it for real.

also got new grips for my bullseye gun (Smith 17-9)

Now that I've popped my revolver "cherry", I'm thinking I should pick up a more "practical" 357 to go with my cannon; CA laws forced me to either buy something that would chamber 45 Long or let 2 boxes of ammo go to waste, so I got a 5" 460 Mag.

Looking more for a range gun than a carry gun, but still one that I could reach for in a pinch, so I'm thinking something in the 3-4" range, and no 5-round cylinders. Currently looking at a King Cobra, 686 Plus, or maybe GP101 (I'm not a big fan of the shape of the Ruger revolver frame, but usually go with function > form, so I'm potentially willing to ignore that)

If I lived in a restricted state, I’d want a TRR8 and/or the 8 shot performance center n frame snub.

The King Cobra is small, smaller than a K frame.

The GP100 is big, almost the size of an N frame.

The gun in the middle you missed is the classic Smith and Wesson Model 19 or 66 in 4”.

Also, I have to appreciate how CA’s restrictions somehow led to you getting a hand howitzer. Of course you could have gotten a Model 25 to shoot those 45 colts, or a Ruger Blackhawk.

At some point I just decided to go all in on the cannon. The only Ruger I could find was a 2" barrel, and I couldn't imagine running 454 through something that small.

Thing looks like The Rock should be holding it in a movie, and even with a weight of about 5 lb, kicks like a mule running Casull or 460 mags. The 45 Long kicks about the same as a polymer frame 40 cal auto. Also, with the 5" barrel it blows 8" flames out the sides of the compensator when shooting 460 magnums.

For a 357, I don't mind big since i've got a number of other options if I ever wanted a "carry" weapon, and anything will seem relatively small next to the 460. If I'm going S&W, I'd really prefer the 686 plus for the extra chamber, but supplies are kind of tight around here so I may end up having to choose from what I can actually find, or else wait a few months.

I’ve got a thing for trying new grips. The smooth short grips I put on my 38/44 Heavy Duty just didn’t feel right so I decided to try a set of BK grips. I’ve tried them in the past on my k frames and didn’t care for the finger groove. The grip frame on the N frame is just bigger enough that it’s a lot more comfortable than the K with the same.

On my K frame I like the long discontinued smooth style adapter from Mershon (pictured) or Pachmayr.
