I'm staying optimistic for you guys. I'm thinking he just bit off way more than he could chew. He seems like a good guy. I guess it'd probably be less "painful" if he'd communicate a bit more on this thread.

Yea. I know he's really busy, but it seems that he's only sent about 10 since the start of this thread. Any response would be nice regarding the sliders remaining. I paid for mine almost two months ago. Thanks man. I know it's a lot of work!

Regardless of complexity, you should have been one of the first to receive the product. I'm not sure what's up. I guess all we can do is wait and stay of those rocks!

Hopefully he'll give us an update soon.

Kickouts have a part in the back that flares out to help protect body panels....and the sleeve style have a sleeve on the frame side of the sliders that allows you to bolt them on and off insted of having them welded on.

couldn't have said it better myself!

soooooo does anyone have a number for derek? i'm assuming he runs a brick-and-mortar shop? i really don't want us flooding him with phone calls or spamming his inbox or whatever - i really don't think he's tryin to cheat us... at least not yet. we just need some communication from him, i haven't heard from him in about a month.

I ordered sliders from Derek a couple of months ago. I was told it would take a couple of weeks and it ended up taking between 2-3 months.

i guess that makes me feel better - at least they were sent _eventually_... it sounds like he bites off more than he can chew on a regular basis.

    getting there....
i just think he's real far behind right now.....and i dont think he bites off more than he can chew it on a regular basis really. when he did this group buy.......there were lots of sliders that had to be made, plus his regular work. i ordered a set from him a while back, took about 3 weeks to get them...............not bad at all, but he wasnt as backed up as he is now either. he's a good dude..........maybe communication could be a lil better, but all in all......he aint gonna screw anyone i dont think.

i honestly don't think he's out to screw anyone. i've heard nothing but good things, just that he's a small (1 man evidently) shop. so he's probably got more work than he can handle by himself. nonetheless, hearing that they're going to be shipping this date, then that date, then not hearing anything is, to say in the least, frustrating. i just want updates on what's going on derek, that's all! i think that's what we all want!

Just look at it like your helping the small time guy put food on his table.

Im sure you will all get your sliders.

Btw dont ever order a custom surfboard. Runarounds forever when it comes to when it will be done.

I wouldn't say to not ever buy a custom surfboard but rather don't buy a surfboard from a shaper who is know to not stick to his word. I worked at a surf shop for 2 years and our number 1 goal was to deliver the custom and repair boards on the day promised. It just depends on who you've shaping your stick. :D
