Official Rock Therapy 2015 Eastern Rollers

For you CO/UT guys lurking this thread: We don't run a lot of 2M out this side of the US. Are you guys mostly using CB or 2M?

A few of us don't mind making the jump but just wanted to see what you guys were running.

 

hahaha i wouldnt say im 100% out, but considering i need at the minimum to add a front bumper, full skids, and whatever else. we will see... was talking to denise about it the other night

 

No no not me. All I would want is a front locker. I could build the rest in a week haha

CB is the primary communication style out here. There are a couple of us that are swaying the way of overlanding and have started looking a bit more at HAM.

You RTT guys planning on camping on the trip out and back?

 

Yup...Figure this trip alone will cover most fo my purchase of that RTT in hotels alone...

Was starting to think about where to pop up the tent while on the way there... Might see if we can find a pay campsite with shower/shitters and room for us.

Working on all of that right now. Looks like the West side of STL would be a good rendezvous site for everyone E. of the Mississippi.

There's a bunch of us from nj/pa going next year too.

Me, homertaco, psutaco, and sander1036 went last year and it was awesome.

 

What route did you all run out there?

 

They went to Texas to visit some of those guys, but I took I-70 out and I-80 back.

We spent a night in Rocky Mountain national park and were planning on doing that again. I reccomend it if any of you guys have never seen that area before.

The place everyone camps for rock therapy is called area Bfe, there are no facilities, just a few portapotties and a few bushes with awesome views

The bike shop in Moab has showers for $5, so we stopped there a few times to get cleaned up.

 

Man it sounds like the East Coast is getting ready to invade Moab next year.

 

I think I convinced eddyrrt to roll up there to.

 

I'm thinking about bringing the prerunner...

 

But it'll be a prerunner 4x4 by then.

 

The more you guys talk about it the more I think I'm gonna try to convince the fiancé that this should be our early honeymoon
