Share your pictures, setups, experiences with whatever shackle flip kit your running.

Dont want this to turn into a bunch of guys poking eachother in the eye but thought it would be good to have a thread for all the shackle flip info to be in one place. Easier access

allpro long travel, shackle flip with ome dakars, cruisin offroad bumpers and sliders, 4.88 gears with arb's front and rear, budbuilt skids.
armortech shackle flip (first batch made), stock shackles, ome dakar leafs, 14inch stroke shocks. im maxing out my shocks right now on droop, so probably going to change up the mounting soon. rides super nice and actually flexs out now.

^ how do you have those bad boys mounted?

I will hopefully be running freelance shackle flip, bamf shock towers, 12" kings, custom alcans, greasable bolts, defined extended shackles

I am actually looking at doing a shackle flip myself. I don't have one yet and don't have a clue as to where to get them, though I hear they can be "homemade?"

I would recommend getting one from ATO or a fabricator like that unless you have the means and patience to make one yourself

jeez, you're gonna have like 8 inches of lift in the rear.

    shackle flip, not u-bolt flip.

    this is a shackle flip.

Haha I might go with the stock length shackles to minimize that.

brought me up significantly. I know it's over 1" (I need to update my build page, it's listed wrong).

I'm no expert at this, but from my understanding my angle is still off. I'm trying to hold out for my rear bumper project before I fully get things dialed in by a spring shop, but yes, I do need to find better shackles for now. I'm a bit squishy.

Overall driving, I get a bit of a weird feeling in roundabouts - the best I can explain is when a motorcyclist is sitting next to his seat in a turn instead of on the seat. Otherwise no noticeable difference.

I have some really good gains in droop offroad - no professional measurement, other than I have a real hard time getting up on three wheels now.

Is that picture at ride height? Appears to be. When you droop out you don't want that shackle going much past 90Âş vertical, you risk going inverted, that makes for a bad day.

I would like to see some peoples bump setups or pics of springs at full bump. This is something that needs to be addressed when doing a shackle flip since the entire leaf pack is lowered when doing "typical" shackle flips, thus causing negative arch sooner at bump.

you should get a longer shackle and move the position forward to get a better angle...

I'm at ride height in a parking lot in the pic. I don't have any safe way to test droop that I can think of.
I'm planning on fixing things once I have my rear bumper project complete, because at that time I will switch springs. This set is way too spongy

I think what you are describing is the drawback to inverted shackles. i.e. Toyota likely went with the bottom-hinged design with the 2nd gens to improve on-road handling. Stiffer polyurethane bushings may improve things slightly.
