ST-50415 reporting in. I was one of the first 15 501st approved shore troopers. Ended up selling the armor to do something else but I wish I had kept it since they are relevant again in Andor

 

So Daisy is going to play Rey again in a new Star Wars movie about rebuilding the Jedi.

WTF, are they just going to have her recreate Luke’s character plot for her whole SWs career?

 

Anyone else hoping they would’ve announced a live action Muchi?

 

Ya know, I don’t hate on anyone for liking the sequel trilogy. i just cannot stand the way they wrote the legacy characters within the sequel trilogy.
And it appears that moving forward, they are less & less concerned with legacy characters(Luke, Han, Leia/etc…) and more concerned with the newer Sequel trilogy characters. And, to an extent, I can understand that.

But, they did Han, Luke & Leia so wrong by making them all seem so feeble & inept.

So, yeah, I guess they are just transplanting Rey into stories/situations that are very similar to what numerous authors have done with Luke for decades.

For the most part I agree. The sequel trilogies suffered from 2 things: unimaginative writing, and the unfortunate passing of the emotional lynch pin and all-around fearless bad-ass Carrie Fisher. I truly think 9 would have gone so differently had she not been taken from us.

This lazy dependence on large-scale baddies and super-evil enemies - I think it’s not doing Star Wars any favors. Stories work on smaller scales, just as long as the mumbo-jumbo space magic isn’t used as a crutch or “get out of peril free” card.

The best writers in Hollywood (at the time) wrote Empire, and it showed. We need that kind of spirit back. I think Dave has it (for the most part - Rebels was decent) and I’m hopeful for Ashoka. The writing behind The Mandalorean has been really good (even Space Lizzo and Darth Tenacious) because it’s at least moving a larger narrative.

And I think we’re enjoying the shit out of that narrative.

But I heard some rumors that they’re looking at starting fresh AT THE BEGINNING - a movie chronicling the first Jedi - and I am really hopeful that they take the time to be original.

Yeah....I'm not sold on another Rey movie...
