TFA is officially the all-time #1 grossing film in North America now with sales of $8 mil in only 20 days (and expected to rise higher). It beat out Avatar, which grossed $760.5 mil in North America. TFA is still behind Avatar in worldwide sales (Avatar has $2.78 bil and TFA has $1.54 bil). TFA hasn't been released in China yet, which is supposed to boost it even more. When it's all said and done, TFA is expected to gross $2.2-$2.4 bil worldwide, still shy of Avatar's $2.78 bil, but still impressive. TFA and Avatar are the only two movies to ever exceed $700 mil in North America.

Imagine if both TFA and Avatar were really good movies and not just rehashings of other movies.

The last movie I saw that wasn't a sequel, based on a book, or a rehashed plot was Interstellar which I thought was fucking amazing.

Avatar rips off Dances with Wolves pretty hard.

Haven't seen either. Honestly, I'm not a big movie guy. It takes a lot for me to sit down and watch a movie.

Watched ep 1-6 with the wife over the past 3 weeks and thought "we need a Star Wars bs thread"...and now I know I'm 42 pages late.

She had never seen any. I hadn't watched them since the theater (1-3....I'm only 27). She hasn't seen 7 yet but I did.

We watched 4-6 and then 1-3. She got into after ep 4 and even liked ep 1 but she hated ep 2 and I had to convince he to finish with ep 3 to complete it. Anakin was such a perv in ep 2 and had a gross Jedi braid. Was that his first movie (Hayden)? He was a terrible actor. Much better in ep 3 but man it was hard to watch ep 2.

It was cool watching them all again after seeing 7 and putting some stuff together. I'm excited for the 1-off movies that are supposed to take place between some of the old movies to see how they connect stuff, like how Yoda tells Obiwan that Qui-gon is a force ghost and will train him during his solitude. Would love to see some more Liam Neeson

It was tough not seeing spoilers on FB, but yeah I think after the 1st it was fair game.

After seeing it, I had to process it for about an hour. Then I had to talk to a friend about it lol.
