Superstition Announcements( January 2011)

This large open area offers more variety and challenging terrain than nearby Plaster city and has less Law Enforcement than Ocotillo Wells.


Visitors can park, ride and Camp anywhere, and there are no services. HOLIDAY WEEKENDS are Crowed and Rowdy, with lots of Bonfires, Speeding and Massive Parties. Terrain Consists of Dry Lakes, Bad Lands, Rocky Mountains and Rolling Dunes. Beware of the Bombing Ranges to the north.



So with that said, just remember this is a Holiday weekend and it will start packing in on thursday night and friday morning as well. so we might not even be able to camp near Mile marker 6 or 7, due to the fact that its the most commonly campped area. we may be more closer to markers 1-4.

 

When you say 2m freq., what are you refering to? CB or race radio?

I can gaurantee you that if you mean Race Radio's, there will only be a select few out there with them. If you referring to CB's there will be plenty of guys out there with those and we will be tuned to channel 21 as always

 

2m would be what is considered a "race radio" they are HAM radios. The 2m band is between 144mhz and 148mhz. And you must posses a license to use it.

why dont we just run on frs?

 

And thats why a lot of the guys dont have one! Most of us arent racing the deserts so we just run CB's

2m is two meter. In other words race radio. I think 2m is what the ham guys call it .

 

CB's blow! Had one for the longest time and I'll never go back. If you're not listening to dumb ass truckers than it's some fool on hill top home blasting away. Plus they have about a two mile effective range without an amp.
