When produced in the first cpl years, there were three types of TX's by the way. The tx, Trd Tx Pro, and the Baja Tx Pro (TX Series). The Baja's are identical matches to the 2015 TrdPro Tacomas. 5100 series coil-over suspension and all.

Actually there was the TX and the TX Pro 1st a year or so later the Baja showed up with the TX decal on it. The TX had side steps and a chrome exhaust tip, the TX Pro had the TRD Stainless steel exhaust and no sidesteps.

Before that...In 2011 , when they first came out with the Tacoma Xtreme models. TRD TX which had the rims, bedside stickers and cant remember if it was exhaust tip or side steps. Then the TX PRO which deleted the steps for the TRD Cat Back exhaust. Both had the regular TRD OFF-ROAD suspension.

I believe it's set on the highest setting.
I wish I knew for sure what the previous owner had done.
But by the looks of it, there is a 'helper leaf' in the rear and the 5100's, I'm not sure if it's the stock coils up front or not.
Is there an easy way to tell?

You look at shock at the bottom.....uhm where the billenstein sticker is there grooves the more rings you see under the coil the more lift or preload. I put mine on .85 if i remember. That is the second notch.

Finally wore out the stock BFG ATs and decided to go with Goodyear Duratrac 285/75/R16s. They fit with the stock Baja suspension and wheels, as long you remove the mud flaps. Only rubbing is on the fender flare behind the wheel on full front suspension compression, no cab mount shop necessary. The rears don't rub even when stuffed.

I had about 40-45k on my ATs, and had run them with bad aligment so two were marginal, the other two probably had 10k left in them. I could have gotten through the rest of the summer with no problem. I got a bonus at work, and decided to just go ahead and buy tires before I spent the money on something stupid.

I was worried they would kill fuel mileage. I already drive pretty slow, 65 MPH on the interstate, in order to get the best fuel mileage. With the stock tires I was getting around 19-20 MPG at 65 MPH, with the 285s I am still gettting the same (after I adjust for the tire size), so I am pretty stoked about that. For city and off-road driving, I think I am taking a couple MPG hit though.

Also, I got these through Tire Rack, and had them shipped to once of the local installers around Boise. I saved about $200 over the cheapest price I could find in town. They were $980 installed.

Showing off my baby Alexa, got her a month ago. 2012 TX Pro 35k on it still a young one. with the catback, fakelocks, and stickers (10 hp alone). Today i got to install the baja suspension on it, Ride feels more smooth and is level now which was my main concern. (Hate the rake). This is how i got it and how it looks now after a month. Comments and feedback welcome.
