I got one of those slime compressors that everybody seem to buy at walmart the first year. So it is something. But to have permanent on board air is the shizit.
And the sticker gives me an extra 20 psi.

 

Damn and I'm still stuck in MD =(

 

Nope, once I get down there I don't have it either. It's on my list but much much further down lol.

Well what I mean is if you made a list of all things you "needed" to go offroading by yourself and if need be to make a self recovery, an air compressor wouldn't make that list. One thing you are doin with it is airing up your tires. You can drive on the street for as long as you want to on 10 psi. So do you "need" to air your tires back up? No. Then, like Levi said, if you unseat a tire you can use it to reseat and air the tire up. Wouldn't a spare be better? You can't air back up a tire with a ripped open side wall. So do you "need" to 're bead your tire? No. Anything else you use if for isn't "needed" either. For me it was a "hey what else can I do that doesn't cost $1000? Oh! Air compressor."

Just ask Adam. He can't even off-road at all by himself and he just bought a compressor. If that don't tell you it's not needed then I don't know what will. Lol

 

in a nut shell my list is pretty much

1. lift
2. more lighting
3. tires
4. recovery equipment
5. electrical- maybe dual battery setup
6. on board air

 

Wow just wow..... yes i can i bought a winch so there.... lol

But seriously I bought an air compressor because my cheap ass slime one died in the middle of airing one tire up when I went to norris up here and I had to drive 22 miles back home with my tires aired down to 18psi.( it was not fun) So I wanted something more sturdy and I aired down to 10 psi last night and back up to 35 in 3 minutes. So it was a win. Plus remember how loud that bitch was at lbl. Yeah it's in the dump somewhere.

 

I would change that to.

1, 3, 4, 5, 2, 6

And I wouldn't do 1 until 3 was ready as well

 

My list is fix my rear diff, New rack n pinion, New drive shaft, and getting my shock fixed

 

MY list is find a job, finish conversion, bigger tires.

 

Don't forget about armor

 

Well I know tires ain't going to happen before lbl, but lift will.

At this point, im planning for what i can do before lbl

 

Its on the list. Probably build my own shit

 

Just remember with all of us that have lighting, lighting would be pointless if you're getting ready for lbl. You could do one tire at a time until you have all 4. Plus never know if someone is going to sell a decent set of 35's , 33's , or whatever for cheap. There was a guy about a month ago sold 4 almost brand new 33's for 50.00 a tire plus shipping. I think the guy was in cali and sent them to a guy in fl for 75.00 on greyhound. So deals are there.

Yeah, but kari's 4Runner needs tires before I do. They're going on 7 years old. Goodyear Wranglers.... i forgot the actual type. They wore great up until recently, and they're getting hard to keep balanced since they're so old.

Realistically, we're going to be buying a house soon, so really im just focused on the lift

 

maybe next time you wont air down for norris.....i never have and never will.
