Yeah no shit! Don't get me wrong. They are cool as shit. But the pics with a truck pulling them and actually offroading on trails and shit looks so gay. Haha I think a small trailer that's got a high speed setup looks cooler behind a truck then a big bastard like that thing

 

Speaking of building somethin ...... I finally got my template cut and back today. Outside holes for high lift, then shackle point slots, then light holes and trailer hitch for the center. I went ahead and drilled and tapped holes for the flush mount lights. They just barely stick out. The plate is 1/4" as comparison. The shackle points are 5/8" with a 1" hole

 

Damn, it is hard to find a decent 2nd Gen tacoma around here for sale. I have been looking to ditch the silverado and get another tacoma.

 

It's not to hard you just got to be willing to dish out $ because most people realize they are sitting on gold.

I think it was a Chevy dealer in Covington couple weeks ago that I saw a 2009 TRD Sport DCLB 4x4 for around $21k.
Milage was somewhere around 130,000 if I remember correctly. Still had original suspension that was obviously worn to sh**. Gotta love that 3 leaf spring pack. Other than that, looked to be in ok shape.

They had a 2012 Frontier with fewer miles next to it for a lot less $$$.

 

not that I've been on the look out for a DCLB 4x4 or anything like that...

I think it is a two edge sword to a camper/trailer. On one hand it is nice having to have all your supplies with you if you get way out there like in the west or down under. It makes having a trailer setup up practical. On the other hand we live in an area that is not as spread out so things are close and a trailer is not needed due to the fact camp can be setup and left. I like the looks of the trailer campers and have thought about building one but there is one catch. I like ac too much to give it up. All the things that can be packed into a trailer would make it too heavy to off road. If your use to just a tent and a bag then the truck bed should be enough. I like to pull my pop up and set up camp then explore. It gives me the freedom to be able to turn around in tight spots and not have to worry about dragging something else out if I break. Like I said out west where it is open and vast it would be ok but not in the east of America.

 

Yep, yep, yep and yep. You really have limited choices if you go on a long expedition type trip as you will need space for things. Pretty much the choice between packing everything on your truck or packing everything in a trailer. I would go with a badass RTT and ARB fridge over pulling any trailer. But obviously a RTT isn't needed in this area of the country either so I'll just stick with my cool as tent and sleepin bag! Oh yeah!!!!

 

Yeah. You guys are right. I guess a small trailer may only be necessary depending on how much stuff you're actually taking/how big certain items are/how much space you have and/or need.
