Generally, reusing steel torqued bolts is ok, but you're supposed to replace aluminum bolts and steel bolts that are angle torqued.

 

I know you guys have ran wind rock, how is it? And is there any future meets being planned for there?

 

Reuse them. You look at my write up? There's nothing wrong with reusing them. They also require red lock tight so then bitches ain't coming out. The torque on them is very small too

 

It's fuckin awesome!!! You may go there and never leave. Haha and I think we are gonna start having a meet a year there. It's my favorite park I been to but for e it's too far and too expensive to go more then once a year

 

If I'm not mistaken its just a hour and a half from my gfs house. Does wind rock get pretty technical?

Yeah there are a bunch of technical trails. But it's 73000 acres of land so there is a bunch of simple trails too. You could take a stock 2wd gmc to the park and ride for days with no problem. It's so much land and there's so much to do that any one can enjoy themselves no matter level they are at. Also there doesn't seem to be many tight trails there. Most is pretty open

 

Sounds great to me! I most certainly wouldn't be taking anything stock though Just looking for some more technical stuff close to the house. Getting tired of the same old trails every time I go home.

 

Oh ok gotcha. Well hell I didn't know. Haha most people who asks questions like that want to know for the reason of not doing hard trails. Haha so my revised answer is ........ Yes, there are a lot of good, fun, very technical trails that I can run and have some problems and that I can't even come close to getting over the first rock. We saw numerous built buggies on 44s and talked to a few that had problems and broke stuff.

 

And where nice enough to help me when I broke a tie rod

 

Speaking of that needs to be added to my list, noticed a little play in my drivers side one while tubbing yesterday

 

Anyone know if I disconnect my tie rod end after its been aligned will it mess up the alignment? Not turning it just detaching from the spindle to replace the boot. I didn't realize it until a few minutes ago after greasing everything the boot on the drivers side must have gotten pinched it has a hole in the side and grease was squirting out.

 

No it won't mess up anything

Windrock changes a lot. When I went there a couple weeks ago there was a land slide on the main trail G1 . I did a trail into truck one time and it was a bunch of stair steps coming down that's son slep through the last time I was there it was all smoth and bull dozed down and a dirt road. Things change a lot.

 

I'm pretty sure it will. I'm just changing the rubber boot on my tie rod end.

 

i’m sure windrock is the same as royal blue, trails change every time we get a decent rain or it snows. i have been on atvs at royal blue and what was an easy section one time was all washed out and land slide the next with a new harder way around it.

 

Yes but depends. Your tie rod adjusts toe and very small adjustments to toe will drastically change handling characteristics. So if you replace the tie rod and adjust the rod end back to exactly where it's at then your numbers should stay the same. But things like the tie rod itself being slightly tweaked or bent or the ball joint being worn out and loose will alter the numbers when replaced with a straight tie rod and brand new ball joint. I know, long answer but figured I needed to say that. Haha

 

this is common for any off-road park. That's why people go through trails and clean them up and why maps are hard to keep over a long period of time because trail difficulties are always being updated. Just ask Cody. I can't count how many times he said "man this spot wasn't this bad last year." God helps change trails as well as people like us. One trail we went down, we moved #300 worth of rocks to get up a harder spot we wanted to try. We changed the difficulty of the trail in about 2 mins

 

Thanks! I just noticed a little but of play in mine, does that mean it needs to be replaced? I know the boot is torn too. But I'm lifting it more today, new tires tomorrow and alignment Thursday. May just get a spare and wheel it till it breaks lol
