So an update ...... We finally found a Dr. in Millington (outside of Memphis) that has the right tools to get a piece of metal out of your eye. She's an eye specialist. Well when we talked to their 24hr on call respondent she said she would call the Dr and see what she could do but more then likely we would have to wait till Monday morning. Well she called back and said the Dr was going to come in to the office and for us to meet her there at 730. We get there, she checks it out, gives me some eye drops to dilate my eye .........



Then she gave me some numing eye drops and went to work. So she pulls out all her cool gadgets and finds the metal. It was already healed over and had numerous rust spots so she busted out a metal hook tool to re-break the skin and pull the metal out. Then she got out this battery powered die grinder looking tool and had to grind the skin down where the rust spots were. I didn't feel shit. It was good stuff. Haha she said she didn't get all the rust out because she didn't want to make a bigger and deeper hole but thought that it would work it's way out. So I go back in today to see where it's at.

So lesson for anyone who gets some metal in their eye .......... She told me that the reason she came in late on a Sunday to help me was I said it happened Sat afternoon and that the risk of something bad happenning (aka losing eye sight) is greatly increased with a day passing. She told me I should've immediately went to a Dr instead of waiting. I know next time anyway. I go back in this afternoon to see what else they need to do

I believe I have a new job, so that's fun I guess. I passed a background check. I "passed" a drug test (hahahahaha), I'm supposed to call and set a start date tomorrow.

Kinda nervous to see how bad this bumper hurts my gas mileage tomorrow. hopefully not too bad.

Shouldn't really affect it much. Your tires would affect it more than the bumper will.

 

Thanks man. Yeah me too. Dr said she left a piece of rust in there cause it was kinda deep and they would have to do some diggin to get it out but that it will either work it's way out eventually or it will just stay in there but won't cause any problems. It's in my retina but not in my vision so it's all good

 

any of you used the Raybestos assembled LCAs from Rock Auto?

It's only about $30 more to get the whole arm rather than bushings & ball joint on their own.

I'll be at one of the local Auto Auctions, simply doing visual inspections of vehicle exteriors. No mechanical anything.

Hopefully a lot less stressful and less physical.

It's a pay increase, it's closer to the house.
