    I'll have some 16" wheels and tires for sale this friday, 12K miles, perfect condition....I'm getting some 17 Sport rims Thursday,gonna put some Micheln tires on.....I'll also have a plain white hood for sale, I'm buying a sport hood and having it painted.

    I read where the TPMS from the 16 inch steel wheels want work on the 17 inch aluminun....couild this be true?

    Yesterday, my dad's 94 Toyota pickup I4 4x4 took a major shit. It sounds like someone threw marbles in a blender and smoke billowed out the hood. Won't start at all now. Anybody wanna take a stab at what's wrong wit her? I figured it would probably be a pretty cheap engine to rebuild/ swap for a rebuilt one. The good news is he's on his way to Nashville to buy a new taco.

    I'm not sure. You could probably dig around more... but to make it easier, call the parts department of one of the toyota dealerships and have them look up the part numbers of the sensors and 16" & 17" rims, and they will be able to tell you if they sensors are different from rim to rim

    My guess is timing chain maybe broke and broke other stuff. Maybe valves or rings. That could explain the pieces sounding like marbles and would blow a gasket which would explain smoke

    Not much of an engine man. If ^ is the problem, could it be fixed? I'd like to get it back running. I grew up in that truck. Lots of good memories. On another note, daddy came home with a frontier. Face palm. :facepalm:

    He ain't giving a damn. Went with the frontier b/c he got a v6 4x4 with lots of goddies for less than he could buy the base 4x4 I4 taco. His only complaint was that "it has too many damn buttons" lol. But he was amazed by heated seats.

    Yeah, it can be fixed. But you may not be able to do it. Of coarse this is all just guessing but if sounds like something bad is broken (timing chain) and if there's stuff clanking around it probably scared pistons and piston walls. That's gonna need to be machined and sleeved, because even a very small nick in a cylinder wall will cause premature wear, or you need to get a new block (which you can do yourself). You will also be rebuilding the head or buying a new head because more then likely those are the parts that are doing the back stroke through your engine oil. If it was me, I would spend the money on a LCE engine and know that I have a brand new motor to last a lifetime. Or to blow up again for some strange uncommon reason. Haha
    Just don't paint the plasti dip. You'll never get it off. :rolleyes:
