I'm thinking about these too. If they are just as good as the camburg ball joints or about the same I will go with these instead

I don't like the design of them. There is a lot of pressure on the ball joint/uniball while off road. The way they have the flat mild steel tie in with the round bar doesn't seem like it will hold up very well. Look at the difference in build quality.

    Valid point made by Levi...

And at $449, they don't seem like they're a very good deal. Anybody seen anyone on here running them?

Me too. For the money they seem hard to beat. I also saw they had released a HD version with thicker tubes and gusseting. More $ tho.

My thought process on them is: They're a flat steel, yes. But it's way thicker than factory and a better steel (I assume?) the ball joint has an unbelievable amount of travel, the arms themselves have a lifetime warranty and the ball joints have a year long warranty, replacements are cheap-ish and easy to do yourself, plus the ball joints are a part from a 1ton truck so I'd say they'll take whatever kind of abuse is thrown at them.

Correct me if I'm wrong but these sound pretty damn good and the way I look at things, would be stronger than the camburg ball joint ucas because camburg uses the "tubing" or circle, whatever you want to call it, which seems much thinner and susceptible to bending/breaking even with the ball joint in it.

Just my observations from pictures, someone chime in on this.

Me too. I don't do any extreme wheeling like some of you do. I have never broke the factory UCAs in my ventures. So if I can get my alignment where I want it with these I don't see any problems, especially with the lifetime warranty. Also, I called and spoke with the owner, Marlin Gehman (or something like that). He seemed to be a stand up dude. Very easy to talk to. Told me if I bought a set and wasn't happy in any way he would refund me 100%. The only other thing I see in this price range are the LR's. I have read through way too many threads of people sharing their problems with the LRs. Of course, the JBAs are new and only time will tell the real story, but the warranty makes me feel like its worth a shot.

Depends on the steel. Chrome moly tubing has more chrome in it which makes it less likely to corrode. Also makes it a tougher than mild steel which means you can make it thinner and lighter and still have the same strength. It will also hold up to heat better. Look up Jeremy foleys pikes peak crash. That will show how strong chrome moly is. Now that being said if you gusset mild steel it can be strong as well be your going to add some weight to it. Not knowing the steel they use is why I don't like it. Granted I'm sure if I called and dug into it I could find out the type of steel the used and would be able to figure all that out.

This isn't going to be a very good analogy right now and I'll come up with a better one after work. Take a piece of pvc pipe and try to bend it. It's quite difficult. Take the same material and make it flat. Then try to bend it. It's going to bend quite easy.

So you are saying that these guys have come up with a revolutionary uca design by using flat steel instead of tubing? Haha ok

You are really reaching by trying to use "1/2" steel is stronger then .120 tubing" as your selling point. I got a question ...... You ever seen a broke uca? If you have where did it fail? I'll tell you now that it wasn't in the "arms". I've seen bent uca bolts and even a sheered bolt on a tubular built arm. That's a lot of force to sheer a 9/16 bolt without bending that weak tube you speak of. The force is placed on the cups with the back cups getting the most. Notice how the camburg cups have gussets? Notice how the "stronger" ones don't ......... I'd also like to know how they're cups are formed. Machined, rolled and welded ..... I'm not sure what camburgs are but I'm sure they aren't weak. I also don't like the ball joint being bolted on. That's just 4 more fail points. Yes a weld could fail but a weld can't back itself out as well. Camburg is a world class company. They build race parts for the most extreme race vehicles on the planet. You don't think they could design a uca for a street driven Tacoma strong enough to withhold a lil trail riding? *Chris Carter voice* COME ON MAN!!!!!

Also though you know the camburg are good, but sometimes it's nice to try out new things. Do a little more research and make your purchase

Yes sir I agree on trying new things. But as you said, don't just aimlessly wander through a field of ignorance and bliss and trust that everything will just be alright. Suspension components are pretty important things
